The all New and Improved, even better than the Amazing 2013's !!!
New high output fuel injectors have been incorporated into the engine, to better control fuel injection and improve throttle response. "A new oil pan baffle better stabilizes oil under high g-forces" . A new specially developed orifice to the relief valve is added to the turbocharger bypass, to help maintain the GT-R's acceleration at high speeds. Thanks to these detail improvements, keen drivers will notice a stronger plateau of torque from 4,500 to 6,000 rpm in the latest GT-R.
Based on its years of racing experience, and those aforementioned testing sessions at the `Ring, Nissan's engineering team worked to lower the GT-R's center of gravity. Having as much weight located as low as possible is a sure-fire way to improve handling and the overall behavior of the suspension. Nissan's modifications were done with an eye on improving performance during track day sessions and, conversely, giving a boost to driving refinement during everyday use. Nissan began by lowering the GT-R's center of gravity with the deflection of the suspension bushings and tires. The shock absorbers and front anti-roll bar have also been retuned for the 2014 mod Believe it or not, the GT-R has a drag coefficient of only 0.26 Cd. That's almost equal to the 0.25 Cd served up by the fuel-sipping ToyotaPrius hybrid. The "aeroblade" design of the GT-R's fenders not only looks aggressive, the shape has been optimized to improve airflow along the sides of the car. The vents in the front fenders are also entirely functional, and are there to pull heat from the V-6 engine, reduce air pressure, and provide more extra downforce. el year, to provide more stable behavior at high speeds.

Pickup sales may hit 2M units for first time since 2007
Sat, 21 Sep 2013Even as fuel prices creep back up, trucks are still a hot item among new-vehicle shoppers. To see how popular pickup trucks still are, you don't have to look any further than how much effort automakers put into the continual one-upmanship of their trucks. Backing this fact up, USA Today is reporting that the segment could top two million sales this year - a total not matched since 2007, though still far from the pre-recession, three-million-unit levels.
Through August, the Ford F-Series continues to be the segment leader with almost 500,000 units sold, but the Chevy Silverado (328,269), Ram 1500 (234,642), GMC Sierra (122,232) and Toyota Tacoma (110,293) are all seeing at least 20-percent sales increases, helping to account for around 1.44 million truck sales so far this year - not including possible outliers like the Suzuki Equator and Chevy Avalanche.
This year alone, General Motors has completely redesigned its fullsize trucks, Ram and Toyota have significantly updated their offerings, the next-gen Ford F-150 will be out next year and Nissan is promising an all-new Titan around the same time with an eventual Cummins diesel under the hood. It would seem, then, that truck sales are poised to continue their upward trend.
2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid arrives with supercharged engine, 26 mpg combined
Wed, 27 Mar 2013Nissan just launched the fully redesigned Pathfinder for the 2013 model year, and now, there's a fuel-sipping hybrid version making its debut here at the New York Auto Show. The 2014 Pathfinder Hybrid packs all of the same features found in the standard crossover, but offers slightly better fuel economy and an improved cruising range, to boot.
The new hybrid is powered by a 2.5-liter supercharged engine (we're assuming it's a four-cylinder, though Nissan hasn't specified) coupled with a lithium-ion battery and 15-kilowatt electric motor, capable of producing 250 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque - 10 less horsepower but three more pound-feet than the standard V6 Pathfinder. Nissan says the hybrid crossover will be rated at 25/27 miles per gallon (city/highway), with a 26-mpg combined rating. This means that on a full tank, the cruising range of the Pathfinder Hybrid is a cool 526 miles.
What's cool about the hybrid packaging is that Nissan has managed not to have it interfere with any of the interior functionality - the Pathfinder Hybrid still packs just as much cargo and passenger space as its naturally aspirated sibling. Official pricing has not been announced, but Nissan expects the hybrid to command an additional $3,000 over the standard model.
NA auto output to reach 11-year peak
Thu, 13 Jun 2013According to Automotive News, automakers are expected to manufacture 16 million light vehicles in North America in 2013. That's up 500,000 units from last year and marks the largest number since 2002. The prediction comes courtesy of LMC Automotive and IHS Automotive, which point to the improving US economy as a bellwether for total production. LMC Automotive says North America will produce 16 million vehicles while IHS has a slightly more optimistic forecast of 16.1 million units. A total of seven automakers are slated to increase production on the continent this year. Nissan is set to see the largest jump at 20 percent over last year.
Volkswagen, meanwhile, is one of the only manufacturers predicted to scale back production. Analysts expect the German company's output to fall by 23 percent to 170,000 units, thanks in part to slow demand for the Volkswagen Passat and Jetta.
