1995 Nissan Maxima Gle Sedan 4-door 3.0l on 2040-cars

Year:1995 Mileage:148777

I am selling my 1995 GLE Nissan Maxima because I want to purchase a different car and need money.  I tried to include as many pictures as possible so you could see this car from all angles.  For a 1995 this car is in great shape!  The car runs good and has a lot of power.  Once in awhile it takes a 2nd crank to start the car.  I've come to realize when it gets low on gas that's when this happens.  As long as you aren't close to empty it cranks up just fine.  I will do my best to list everything about this car...including the good and the bad.

So here we GO!!  Take into account this car is almost 20 years old!  Anything I mention below.....I took pictures of it so you can see what I am talking about.

Engine-  Has an Injen Cold air intake and it def. gives the car more power.  Spark Plugs were changed about 2 years ago.  Battery has been replaced, Starter has been replaced. Fuel pump has been replaced.  The rest of the engine is stock.

Wheels/Brakes-  17" ASA revolution rims with new front tires.  New front brake pads.

Exterior-  Paint is in really good shape overall.   There is a scratch on the back right door which I took pictures of so you could see for yourself.  There is a little bit of rust on the bottom front left of the car.  On the front bumper of the car there is some paint damage.

Interior- The interior is in really good shape other than the drivers seat.  The leather is old and cracking/flaking off on the drivers seat.  Passenger seat is starting to do that but is still in great shape.  The back seats are in great shape and still look amazing other than the very top of them which is cracking up do to the Florida sun.  Also....the Steering wheel leather could use a new re-wrap.  It is in rough shape.

Extra's-  DVD/CD player with a 7" screen.  I have the park brake bypass on it and It plays dvd's even while driving...which I do not recommend by the way!

The car has been lowered

Tinted Windows

17" ASA Revolution Rims

Injen Cold Air Intake

Aftermarket Tail Lights

Aftermarket Exhaust

10" Kenwood Subwoofer with Bass Controller!  (good for when parents are in the car/actually want to talk to the people in your car. ;)

Kicker speakers in front doors and Rear speakers

GT-R takes on Altima V8 Supercar and Leaf Nismo in Nissan time attack special

Fri, 14 Mar 2014

One of the support races for the Clipsal 500 V8 Supercar race in Australia was a Nissan showcase in the form of a time attack challenge: at the starting line were the Nissan Leaf Nismo RC, a GT-R and an Altima V8 Supercar. The 80-kilowatt Leaf Nismo RC was given a seven-second head start on the 545-horsepower GT-R and a 26-second lead on the 600-hp Altima V8 Supercar in hopes that it could get around the 3.21-kilometer course first.
Nissan's not afraid to burn the Leaf Nismo RC's rubber at the track, recently letting video series Translogic hit the kerbs, and it's put it up against some competition, having raced a Tesla Roadster - and lost. The odds were a bit better this time, but it wasn't the finish the hosts expected. Now a race commentator, the driver in the GT-R, Neil Crompton, finished on the podium of the Toohey's 1000 race in an R32 GT-R in 1992.
You can watch the hard-fought time attack in the video below. Skip ahead to 3:43 if you just want the action, but Crompton's recap of every driver interview ever is worth a watch at 2:41.

Nissan Patrol attempts Guinness record with 170-ton cargo plane tow

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

Yesterday, Nissan teased us with a video showing a Patrol pulling up to a 170-ton cargo plane at an airport in the Middle East - we could only assume that the not-for-America sports utility vehicle would attempt to tow the jet.
Well, somebody leaked the official Nissan video, which indeed shows the Patrol successfully pulling the plane 30 meters for what reportedly is a Guinness world record. While Guinness hasn't confirmed the record on its website at time of writing, the 170-ton jet would be the heaviest plane ever towed by a production automobile. The video was taken down quickly, but another video shot by an observer at the event was posted for our enjoyment. We figured Nissan would move to repost the official video sooner rather than later, and it did.
The Patrol seems to have no problem towing 340,000 pounds, but let's just say it wasn't a quick ordeal. Check out the official and unofficial video of the tow below, as well as Nissan's teaser video. In a reversal of fortunes, we also threw in another, somewhat smaller but perhaps just as impressive vid, just for fun.

Nissan leaning on JATCO to remedy CVT problems

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

Nissan's decision to fit continuously variable transmissions across even more of its new models may be coming back to bite the Japanese automaker, as it's been hampered by customer satisfaction issues relating to its XTronic CVTs, which are provided by a supplier called JATCO.
From what we're understanding, the issue largely relates to customers' unfamiliarity with the non-traditional shift nature of a CVT. Dealers have reported complaints and service visits from owners over the belt-driven automatics (did these people not test drive the cars before they bought them and notice that they don't shift conventionally?).
The company, which Nissan owns 75 percent of, has come under fire from none other than Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn, who's spoken about JATCO and its troubles rather openly. "Every time you launch a new CVT you always have some risks," Ghosn said in an interview with Automotive News. "So we now have a process by which, before we launch any new CVT, [JATCO] come before the Nissan executive committee to explain all the measures they have taken to make sure there are no surprises."
