1986 NISSAN HARDBODY PICKUP D21 BODY STYLE.  IT WAS USED AS A SPARE PLOW TRUCK UNTIL IT DIDN'T START.

THE PROBLEM IS DEFINITELY ELECTRICAL.  I PUT A NEW DISTRIBUTOR, REPLACED 2 IGNITORS (USED) AND 1 COMPUTER (USED). THEN I LOST INTEREST AND IT SAT IN THE GARAGE.   THE BODY IS BADLY RUSTED, BUT THE FRAME IS EXCELLENT!!! (OPPOSITE OF MOST NISSANS).  IT WILL NOT TAKE MUCH TO MAKE IT RUN AGAIN.  IT WAS A GREAT PLOW TRUCK!!
TRUCK COMES WITH A FULL MEYERS PLOW SET UP, 4 POINT ROLL BAR, BED LINER AND A MOUNTED TRUCK BOX.  TIRES ARE GOOD.  4 WHEEL DRIVE IS GOOD, LOW RANGE IS GOOD.  I THINK THE SLAVE CLUTCH IS SHOT, BUT I HAVE A NEW 1 IN THE BOX, I JUST DIDN'T INSTALL YET.

I AM STARTING THIS AUCTION AT A $1.  I AM PUTTING A RESERVE ON IT BECAUSE i DON'T WANT TO GIVE IT AWAY, BUT IF ALL GOES WELL, I WILL REMOVE THE RESERVE BEFORE THE END.

THE TRUCK IS LOCATED IN LONG ISLAND, NY 11768

Nissan's big price cuts threatening others' profits

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

Bloomberg reports Nissan may be keeping the competition up at night even more than normal. The Japanese automaker recently cut prices on seven of its models and bolstered incentive offerings in an attempt to gain market share in the US, and the strategy is working. Last month saw the company's sales leap by 25 percent, which is nearly triple the industry average. Nissan is currently taking advantage of the weak yen - Japanese currency has fallen by 15 percent against the dollar, which has given the automaker around $1,500 per car to use to either add features or cut prices. Some analysts are calling the policy "scorched earth."
Meanwhile, American automakers like Ford, General Motors and Chrysler are doing their best to keep from sliding back into old bad habits. The Detroit Three have steadily moved away from a discount and incentive strategy to bring in new buyers since the 2009 recession. Those short-sighted tactics helped paved the way for bankruptcy at both GM and Chrysler. As Bloomberg reports, the resolve to stay away from big discounts may falter if Toyota begins using similar tactics.

Renault COO Tavares dreams of running GM or Ford

Fri, 16 Aug 2013

What do you do if you're in a job with no upward mobility? Admittedly, most of us just stick it out while secretly hoping our boss is sacked for all those paperclips he's been swiping, netting us a nice, shiny promotion. Then again, most of us aren't the number two at Renault, like Carlos Tavares.
Tavares is the right-hand man to Renault CEO, Carlos Ghosn, and like a lot of us, he's ready for another challenge. As Ghosn is only 59 years old and doesn't have a boss to fire him for paperclip theft, though, it's pretty unlikely that he'll be going anywhere anytime soon. Tavares doesn't seem too concerned, based on an interview he gave to Automotive News. "We have a big leader and he is here to stay," Tavares told AN.
What's surprising is where Tavares wants to go, "Why not GM? I would be honored to lead a company like GM." The Renault exec also mentioned Ford, and as AN points out, both organizations make a lot of sense. Both are led by CEOs that are approaching or are already past retirement age, and should be looking for dedicated replacements in the not-so-distant future. That doesn't mean Tavares is a shoe-in, though.

Nissan 370Z Nismo races man in wingsuit

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

For its latest ad, Nissan brought together a racecar driver in a 370Z Nismo, a BASE jumper in a wingsuit and a Juke crossover with three computer screens to the Susten Pass in the Swiss Alps. As odd as the combination sounds, the ingredients come together quite nicely for an action-packed display of man versus machine in a race to the end of the pass.
No, the Juke didn't race. Nissan left that to 2012 Nissan GT Academy Champion Peter Pyzera in the 370Z, who diced his way down the windy mountain pass. Pyzera faced renowned BASE jumper Dave Barlia in the wingsuit, who jumped off a cliff and relied merely on gravity and lift to rocket down the side of the mountain.
The Juke we mentioned earlier, known as the JukeRide, played an important role in the event, but you'll have to find out by watching the set of videos we provided below, which includes the commercial and behind-the-scenes footage. If you like what you see, rejoice; Nissan says there will be more short films like this to showcase its Nismo cars and athletes.
