 I built this car from the ground up 20 years ago. The car came from Arkansas and had no rust on it. It was a complete frame off build. Frame and undercarriage was sandblasted and painted with black epoxy. New hinges, gas and brake lines. I have over $25,000 into this car.

Body: Car was primed with self etching primer and painted with Sikkens paint and clear coat. My best friend painted the car. I think there may be 2 spots the size of a golf ball of body filler. Other than that the car has no other body filler. The lines in the car are perfect. Car has a Harwood bolt on hood scoop. The scoop does come off and there is a gasketed hole with aluminum rivets around it. I also have a 4" cowl induction fiberglass hood to go with the car. It is not painted. Car has no rust or rot and has always been garaged.

Interior: Gray interior, carbon fiber theme. Recaro seats. Hurst lightning rods. Grant carbon fiber steering wheel. New head liner. The dash has a few cracks in it and the console isn't in the best of shape but you can easily find people parting out a cutlass and buy better ones online.

Engine: I built this motor with all the tricks. I used to own a speed shop called The Performance Shop. 383 Chevy Stroker. Balanced, 292 Comp Cam, 202 Heads, 10-1 compression, March Serpentine setup, MSd distributor, 6al box, shift light and timing control. I'd estimate the engine has 450 HP and 475 TQ. Last time I had it up the track it hit the 11's and I was required to put a roll cage in it so stopped racing it. Has a Edelbrock 800 CFM carb and a Tourque Link Intake. I also have fishing tackle box with every jet, and rod and everything you need to tune the carb.

Exhaust: Hooker supercomp coated headers. 2 1/2 duels through Edlebrock stainless steel mufflers.

Transmission: Bowtie Overdrives 2004R Level 3. With their 2800 extreme duty torque converter. G-Force cross member.

Driveshaft: 3" heavy duty

Rear End: Chevy 12 bolt with 390 gears. Disk brakes off a newer Camaro. Hotchkis 4 link setup

Suspension: Ground force lowering spindles, QA1 coil over springs and shocks (ride hight is fully adjustable along with the shocks are 10 stage adjustable. Car is roughly 4" off the ground right now. I modified a  mid 80s GTA sway bar in the front, all energy suspension bushings. GTA quick ration steering box, All new tie rods etc. Car handles like it's on rails. I've taken this on an on ramp  at over 80mph depending how the suspension is set up.

Wheels and tires: Weld drag lites. I have 2 front sets, 7" with BF Goodrich com T/A's and a 4" with Mickey Thompson Skinnies. Rears are 8" with Micky Thompson Street Drags on it. I also have a brand new set of Mickey Thompson drag slicks that go with it.

Stereo: Alpine with amp. and boston acoustic speakers. (nothing over the top)

Mileage: The gages are out of a different car. I think the car has 100,000 miles on it according to the registry. I have probably put 10,000 on the car since it was redone. I only took it out maybe 20 times a summer and it has never been a daily driver.

I'm selling this as is and for off road use only as it will not pass an inspection.

Jay Leno bangs up his own Toronado in GT6

Ever since Gran Turismo 4, Jay Leno has had at least one of his cars included in the popular racing simulator (starting with the Tank Car), and more of his machines appears in Gran Turismo 6. They include this nose-heavy, front-wheel-drive V8-powered muscle car. Yes, that aptly describes a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - except Leno's is rear-wheel drive. And it has a Cadillac CTS-V race engine modified to pump out 1,070 horsepower.
For the latest Jay Leno's Garage episode, he takes his real Toronado out for a cruise and then drives the virtual one like he stole it, accruing some body damage along the way. Leno also drives the virtual supercar Mercedes-Benz designed for GT6, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept that debuted at the LA Auto Show, along with the real one, which is a 1:1-scale model. The model is radio-controlled and equipped with a small electric motor, sufficient to move it on and off of auto show floors.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?
