THIS IS ONE OF THE FIRST 600 Barracudas made. It has a Valiant emblem on the rear. Later did not. The Barracudas came out in April of 1964. This one came out in May.It has a push button transmission that shifts fine. The engine has a valve job with guides, seals and hardened seats so you do not need leaded gas. the tires are almost new& alignment. The carb. rebuilt, new starter, bearings in alternator, new water pump, recored radiator, all new brakes, drums, steel and rubber, main & wheel cylinder, new bearings, water heater & radiator hoses, spark plugs and wires. As far as I know you should be able to get in the car and drive away. The glass is in great condition and all the cranks work smoothly. There are no tears or marks in the upholstery, or carpet. There is a tiny crack starting in the padded dash. As you can see the from the picture the floors are original. Also the front & rear universal joints are new. The rear springs have been rebuilt. I have a copy of the original window sticker and the mfg. build sheet.

I have the original home owners manual and the factory. Also I have supplementary manuals sent out by the factory. I have a lot of dealer brochures and much more information. This is a car I wanted in 1964 but all my extra money went for family and children. I am at the point in my life that it is time for somebody to care for this beauty.

The Grand children are not a car lover like me so hopefully some one will get it and give it the attention and care I have given it. I have information that I can see where the car was bought and traveled to date.  By the way the Barracuda will celebrate it's 50 th birthday in May.

The only payment I will accept is wire to wire transfer from your Bank to my Bank.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
