1969 Plymouth Barracuda 340 Rare Slickback Vinyl Roof! Drive Home! Low Reserve!! on 2040-cars

Year:1969 Mileage:99000
Location:

Champaign, Illinois, United States

UP FOR AUCTION IS A 1969 PLYMOUTH BARRACUDA 340!
I HAVE THE BROADCAST SHEET - FENDER TAG - AND - ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER!!

I HAVE OWNED THIS LITTLE A-BODY BARRACUDA FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME BUT HAVE HAD A LOT OF FUN IN THE LITTLE CAR!
WE JUST FINISHED A FULL WEEKEND OF DRIVING ALL OVER CENTRAL ILLINOIS, WE ROLLED OVER 300 MILES AT 65-70 (AND TRIPLE DIGITS WHEN IT WAS SAFE!) THIS THING FLYS!
I HAVE HAD MANY BIG BLOCK MOPARS AND HAVE RIDDEN IN AND DRIVEN PLENTY OF STRONG SMALL BLOCKS OF ALL MAKES AND THIS ONE WILL RUN CIRCLES AROUND MOST OF THEM!

AS FAR AS I CAN TELL FROM ALL OF THE PAPER WORK THAT CAME WITH THE CAR IT HASNT HAD ANYTHING DONE TO IT MECHANICALLY ACCEPT FOR THE LEAKY HEADERS, DUAL FLOWMASTER MUFFLERS AND A EDELBROCK 650 CFM CARB BACK IN THE 90'S! I DONT THINK ITS REALLY EVER HAD ANYTHING ELSE DONE TO IT! IT STILL HAS IT'S POINTS! IF I GET THE $10K I WOULD LIKE TO GET I AM GOING TO INCLUDE A BEAUTIFUL SET OF CORRECT 340 HP MANIFOLDS, OTHERWISE THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE TO THE BUYER FOR AN ADDITIONAL $400.00

I LIKE TO SAY THAT THE CAR IS A VERY UNMOLESTED CAR BUT THE BODYWORK AND PAINT PLUS THE DOOR-PANELS BEING CUT FOR SPEAKERS KEEPS THAT FROM BEING 100% TRUE.  THE WIRING ISN'T BUTCHERED ANYWHERE AND IT HAS NEVER BEEN "HILLBILLY HOT-RODDED" AND EVERYTHING WORKS! ALL THE LIGHTS, BLINKERS, AND GUAGES WORK! WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU GOT IN A RALLYE DASH CAR AND ALL OF THE DASH GUAGES WORKED AND ARE ACCURATE!

AS MENTIONED EARLIER, THE BODY WAS PAINTED AND THE BODYWORK DONE POORLY IN THE 80'S OR EARLY 90'S AND WILL NEED TO BE REDONE TO BE A "SHOW CAR" BUT THE CAR IS VERY PRESENTABLE AS A NICE "DRIVER" JUST AS IT IS.  IT STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL PAINT IN AND UNDER THE TRUNK, DOOR JAMBS AND UNDER THE HOOD.  THERE IS RUST IN THE FRONT FENDERS, REAR QUARTERS  BUT I AM INCLUDING AMD REAR QUARTER PANEL PATCH PANELS! THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR IS AS CLEAN AS THE INSIDE OF THE TRUNK.

THE TRIM ON THIS CAR ALONE IS WORTH WHAT I'LL TAKE FOR THIS CAR, ITS NICER THAN MOST I HAVE EVER SEEN! THE IMPOSSIBLE TRIM AROUND THE SUPER RARE SLICKBACK VINYL ROOF IS PERFECT! AND THERE ARE VERY FEW FLAWS IN ANY OF THE REST OF THE TRIM. THE BUMPERS LOOK LIKE THEY WERE REPLACED BUT THEY MAY BE ORIGINAL, THEY ARE REALLY NICE! THIS IS AN EASY RESTORATION BECAUSE IT IS ALL THERE AND NICE!

THE INTERIOR IS ALL THERE AND AGAIN EVERYTHING WORKS! EVEN THE TRUNCK LIGHT! THE SEATS ALL HAVE SPLIT SEAMS AND IT COULD USE CARPET, BUT IT HAS A PERFECT HEADLINER AND ALL OF THE OTHER TRIM PIECES ARE IN GREAT SHAPE! I AM INCLUDING A BEAUTIFUL (AND VERY EXPENSIVE) CORRECT NEW DASH PAD! (NOT A CAP!)
THE PLASTIC HAS BEEN TRIMMED AROUND THE RADIO FOR AN AFTERMARKET RADIO BUT IT IS ONLY THE OUTER PLASTIC AND YOU DONT NOTICE IT UNLESS YOU POINT IT OUT TO SOMEONE. SEE THE VIDEO ON YOUTUBE -

THIS IS A GREAT CAR THAT NEEDS A RESTORATION BUT CAN BE USED AND HAD FUN WITH WHILE YOU WORK ON IT. ALSO IF ANY OF YOUR CHEVY OR FORD BIUDDIES WANT TO RUN THEIR MOUTHS... GIVE THEM A RIDE, OR BETTER YET RUN THEM!

SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET A GREAT CAR CHEEP THAT YOU CAN DRIVE ANYWHERE WITH CONFIDENCE, LOOK GOOD GETTING THERE!

GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING!

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
