1980 Plymouth Volare Base Coupe 2-door 3.7l on 2040-cars

Year:1980 Mileage:73509
Location:

Spotsylvania, Virginia, United States

1980 Plymouth Volare/Duster 225/Auto. The odometer says 73,509 and considering the history I was given with this car and the overall condition of the car, I feel that the mileage is true but I have no way to verify this. BODY: Other than a few dents and scratches, this car is extremely solid especially for a 34 year old F-Body with zero rust that I can find. obviously it needs the filler panel at the front bumper. INTERIOR: This is the worst of the car in my opinion however I found everything needed through internet sources and legendary auto interiors, the floors are extremely solid as stated in body. ENGINE & TRANS: This car runs and drives " very well", but does need tweaking, its an old car. I think its the choke, but after its warmed up- no problem. I think a tank of high test and a tune up would work wonders. although I have never driven this car any great distance, the car was a daily driver before my purchase. Overall I feel this would be a easy restoration or drive as is.  car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to pull this listing.

I have had questions in regards to whether this car would make a lengthy trip, I see no reason why it wouldn't, however if the purchaser chose to drive this car away and felt more comfortable to have a tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor button, fuel filter, fuel pump, oil, oil filter, air filter, belts and hoses) I would be willing to perform this for cost of parts. also if you chose to have this car shipped I am within 30 miles of the Ashland DAS transport terminal and would be willing to deliver to the terminal or assist in the loading of the car if you decide to pick it up or choose another shipping company. BTW it has been brought to my attention that I should state the this vehicle is SOLD AS IS therefore please ask any questions and I will try and respond as soon as possible.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
