This is a quick sell, so act fast!  This Roadrunner is 90%+ complete and is a Colorado backyard find.  This car is a fantastic start for someone on a budget.  I'm selling it cheap for fast cash, that is the only reason.  Here is some basic info on it:

- I was able to start the engine and shift into reverse and drive.
- The 383 engine is an early 1968 (see picture of block ID).
- All glass is there, the windshield has a crack on the passenger side.
- The rear corner windows have the pop-out style latches.
- No back seat.
- The brake pedal goes right to the floor.
- The trunk floor and quarters are rusted.
- Some pseudo repair was done to the rust on the driver's quarter.
- No exhaust manifolds, but does have the exhaust pipes.
- The ignition tumbler and trunk key lock are in the glove box, along with several keys.
- Sold only with a bill of sale.

I'm keeping the tire that is seen on the driver's rear, however, I'll find a wheel to replace it with that holds air.  Also, I will include a matching rim to the one on the passenger's rear.

$2,000 is due within 24 hours of auction close. I will take PayPal, cash, cashier's check, or money order for payments.  The total due for the car is set to 10 days, however, I might work with you if there are complications.  The car can sit here and wait to be taken, for up to 4 weeks, if needed.   If the car sits for more than 4 weeks, I reserve the right to resell the car with no refunds.  The car is sold as-is.  I reserve the right to sell early to a local buyer.

Ask any questions, and if you'd like any more pictures, let me know.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
