1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus on 2040-cars

Year:1972 Mileage:56351

1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus. P code 400 HP numbers matching engine. No Rust. 727, 8 3/4 with 3.23 gears, dual exhaust, A/C (not working) , Power Steering, Power Brakes, 150 MPH Rallye Dash, Bucket Seats, Console, Rear Defrost, front disc brakes.  Runs and drives great. I bought this car from the 2nd owner, he owned it for about 10 years. The original owner was his co-worker. When I bought it, it hadn't been on the road since the early 80's. The inspection sticker on the windshield shows 1979. There's still a parking permit on the rear valence from 1975. I replaced or repaired everything necessary to get it running and driving. It's been back on the road for about a year now.

What it needs:

It needs a heater core, I have it bypassed now. The speedometer flopped around when I first drove it and now zeros at around 120 MPH, the odometer still works correctly though. The dash is cracked and the headliner is ripped at the seams, I have a new headliner that goes with the car and a plastic dash cap. The seats are nice except for the drivers seat, it needs recovered, the seams are split. I have not operated the A/C, I'm sure it needs gone through. There are a few dents, big one in the drivers door, and drivers side rear valence. Several small dents here and there. The right side Sebring Plus trim is all there, the left side is either missing or heavily damaged and needs replaced. Could use a repaint, the paint in the trunk and jams are still good though.

The factory exhaust and intake manifolds are long gone, along with the Thermoquad. It now has an Edelbrock Torker with a 1971 Carter AVS 4615SA, and headers from the 70's. The dual exhaust from the headers back looks original, mufflers need replaced though. Centerline Wheels with new BFG tires.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
