Hi Folks,

You are bidding on a Rare Rust-Free 1969 Pontiac Bonneville 3 Seat Wagon. This Bonneville shows 58K on the odometer and although I cannot verify it ,I believe the miles to be true which I will explain below. Looking at the interior pictures, it shows hardly any wear and I consider it to be Mint for 45 years old with 58K miles.

This Pontiac is even more rare with it's Midnight Green Lower Body and Limelight Green roof. The PHS docs and cowl tag verify paint code 57 and paint code 59.

I have owned this car about 7 years and recently decided to consolidate my vehicles and I came to the conclusion the time has come to sell this piece of GM history.

I can tell you I have poured over every inch of this car and I cannot find any rust. The car appears to have been undercoated when new and that saved the body panels, additionally the car spent its entire life in Oklahoma, and Climate controlled Chicago land.

The reason I believe the miles to be correct is the car had it's original brake pads and unturned rotors on it when I purchased the car. I did replace the front disc pads but did not turn the original rotors. The same is true for the rear brakes shoes, except the shoes are original.

The original 428 gave up the nylon timing gear 2 years ago so I pulled the motor and installed a new double roller chain and gears, rings, bearings, Ram Air cam and lifters, cam bearings, HV oil pump, crank bearings, water pump, and all seals and gaskets. When I disassembled the motor there was not even a ridge on the cylinders which is why I believe the 58K miles. I did not bore the engine it just didn't need it. I added the NOS chrome valve covers and an original 69 dual snorkel air cleaner from a 1969 Grand Prix. I have the original air cleaner but it was dented.

The suspension is all original, and has new shocks, I did add air shocks in the rear, the steering is tight and all the rubber bushings look good. Transmission, rear axle, and drive shaft all good. The Bonneville literally floats down the road.

Exhaust is OK and will probably need replacement in the next few years.

The air conditioning BLOWS COLD and still has the R-12 system. Radiator is a brand new Harrison Reproduction. Installed new hoses and belts with the radiator.

New tires less than 500 miles. Still had the bias-plies but the were dry rotted. The original Goodyear Polyglas spare has NEVER been mounted and has the original markings from the factory.

The Interior - everything works including the clock and radio although the rear speaker needs to be replaced. Heater, lights, wipers, horn, turn signals, power seat, and power rear window all work. Door panels, seats, and dash all in mint condition. Carpet is a little faded in the back and on the door panels, there is also some scuffs in the cargo side panels. Headliner is original and in mint condition.

Exterior - Rust free original panels, roof was repainted the original Limelight Green and is OK  very shiny but the metallic is a little blotchy. The tailgate, left and right taillight area has had some repair at some point in its life so the paint has some cracking, I tried to show this in the pictures. I believe the doors have their original paint as do the hood and the right fender. Notice the still shiny door jams! I had the left fender touched up on top because of some spilled brake fluid. The Midnight Green lower paint really needs to be repainted as the original Acrylic Lacquer and touched up areas are showing their age and a re-spray would make the car look awesome. The trim and chrome is all good with only the rear bumper needing replacement (scratched and a dent). Glass appears original and in good condition. I installed an NOS Endura nose and emblem. These are not reproduction but NOS pieces. The nose has no filler in it.

What you have a an excellent driver that's looks good,TOTALLY RUST FREE, and only needs some paint to make it show quality

I have replaced at lot of parts and the car can be driven reliably across the country. I have tried to describe the Bonneville as best I can, but not disassembling the entire car I'm sure I missed something. The car is  almost 45 years old (built Oct. of 68) please keep that in mind.

I will include in the sale(if the price is right) an NOS rear bumper, 4 Full Size Pontiac Rally II Wheels, extra chrome, dash parts, NOS taillights, NOS ball joints and a box of original T-3 headlights, plus all the brochures shown in the pictures.

Please contact me with any questions..

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.

eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile

Sun, 29 Apr 2012

Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.

Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.
