THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL 1965 BONNEVILLE CONVERTIBLE. IT WAS JUST ACQUIRED FROM THE ESTATE OF AN ELDERLY MAN WHO HAS OWNED IT SINCE 1970 (THE LAST 43 YEARS). THE CAR HAS JUST OVER 101,000 MILES ON IT. THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES AS IT SHOULD WITH NO KNOWN ISSUES. THIS PONTIAC IS PRETTY MUCH A SURVIVOR. MOST OF THE PAINT ON THE CAR APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL. THE BONNEVILLE DOES HAVE A NUMBER OF CHIPS AND SCRATCHES THAT HAVE BEEN TOUCHED OVER THE YEARS. THE BODY HAS NO SOFT SPOTS AND IS VERY SOLID. ALL THE CHROME ON THE CAR IS ORIGINAL AND WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE REAR BUMPER IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE ORIGINAL WHITE GENUINE LEATHER INTERIOR HAS SOME PATINA AND SHOWS WELL FOR IT'S AGE. THE DASH PAD IS PERFECT (NO CRACKS OR DISCOLORING) THE CLEAR PLASTIC STEERING WHEEL LOOKS NEAR NEW. THE DOOR PANELS HAVE SOME STAINS BUT SHOW WELL. THE CARPETING IS EXCELLENT. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WITH GLASS REAR WINDOW LOOKS GREAT. THE TRUNK STILL HAS IT'S ORIGINAL MAT, TIRE JACK AND CARDBOARD TRUNK LINER. THE CAR HAS JUST HAD A COMPLETE DETAIL. THE MOTOR WAS CLEANED AND PAINTED IT'S ORIGINAL PONTIAC BLUE. THE EXTERIOR WAS BUFFED AND WAXED. THE CAR IS LOADED WITH OPTIONS:

POWER STEERING
POWER BRAKES
POWER SIX WAY SEAT
POWER ANTENNA
FACTORY RADIO
389/V8
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
POWER TOP
CONVERTIBLE TOP BOOT
DASH CLOCK

THIS IS A GREAT LOOKING 60'S CRUISER. IT IS NOT PERFECT. IT HAS NOT BEEN RESTORED. I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN IT AROUND A FEW TIMES AND IT IS A PEOPLE MAGNET. I WELCOME AND ENCOURAGE YOU TO INSPECT THE CAR BEFORE MAKING AN OFFER.

PLEASE CALL 815-219-3801 WITH ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS. THANK YOU.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM

Fri, 16 Oct 2009

Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.

Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
