Here is a package deal for all you pontiac fans out there!! Two cars for the price of one. The two cars are as follows- White catalina VISTA or four door hardtop. 93k on car. Picked up a few years back out of illonios as a roller. I did find out motor was full of water and junk, trans looks like its full of water too by the fluid color. Nice options on car, outer body good, needs usual floor and trunk work, glass is good. missing drivers door panel. Title in hand.  Second car is Starchief sedan.   This one is loaded with options as most starchiefs were. This is a western car and is pretty solid. Has been wrecked judging by rear end. This car is also a all original car with 30k on it. Missing tie rod on pass side and worse rust in on drivers side rear where quarter was replaced....poorly, passenger side is beat up. I love 60 pontiacs, have had several in the past and have tons of parts for these cars also. Just need to focus on other things in my life now and you know how it goes. Dont want to sell but cant enjoy them just sitting there not getting any attention either. I can answer more questions over the phone or by email. I work 12 hour shifts so time is short during the week. Weekends are open usually. Yes i know these are 4 door cars but still, in this era they are still cool and affordable. By all means u got a two door or know of one ill trade  for a coupe in decent shape. Not holding my breath tho. Have titles for all and extra parts for extra money, including a vintage aluminum offenhauser tri power intake minus carbs and thermostat housing, and a NOS MINT condition Tri Power air cleaner for the 347-389, as well as a complete running 389 out of a different starchief, with trans. Car had 70k miles and ran and drove when pulled two yrs ago, and it ran great, car was too far gone to save. Plan was to put that in the white vista since the original motor was junk. If interested i do have the original block for the vista but cannot claim it is uncracked and useable. I did pull it out for disassembly and it was bad inside. Everything was rusted solid. Can call after 6pm my time(nebraska-central) week days or wait till weekend. Call Tom at 308-750-3571, leave message if no answer and will try to reply to emails soon as i can, so please be patient. THANK YOU and must have a feedback of 7 or more, sorry but too many tire kickers or what not. This is not a game or fantasy ebay!! Its for real so do the same. Buyer responsible for shipping, can store cars for a reasonable amount of time as long as cars are paid for. They are currently stored inside and can remain that way. Immediate deposit of 500.00 required with remainder payed within 7 days. Will work with serious buyers, like a 50 50 split, for example half paid for up front and half on pick up ect. BUT none is refundable for any reason so be prepared to follow through with transaction.

2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am

Mon, 13 May 2013

No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.

GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners

Fri, 28 Oct 2011

This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.

GM knew about fatal Chevy ignition problem decade before recall

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

Well, this is not good for General Motors. Following a report last week that GM was recalling 778,000 Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 compacts over concerns that the ignition could switch out of the "run" position without warning, USA Today reports that the Detroit-based behemoth knew about the issue, which affected 2005 to 2007 Cobalts (the Cobalt shown above and in the gallery is from 2010) and 2007 Pontiac G5s, all the way back in 2004.
The information comes from a deposition in a civil lawsuit against GM, obtained by USA Today, which claims that a GM engineer experienced the issue while the then-new model was undergoing testing. The issue was "solved" when a technical service bulletin was issued in 2005, informing dealers to install a snap-on key cover on the cars of customers who complained about the issue. According to the Cobalt's program engineering manager, Gary Altman, the cover was an "improvement, it was not a fix to the issue."
The case where the depositions were made was from 2010, and involved Brooke Melton, a 29-year-old pediatric nurse in Georgia who was killed on her birthday. At the time, police claimed she was going too fast on a wet, rural road, although it later came out through the black box that her car's ignition had come out of the "run" position at least three seconds before the accident (the max amount of time a black box records before a wreck), disabling her airbags, power steering and anti-lock brakes. According to USA Today, police said Melton was "traveling too fast for the roadway conditions," although it's impossible to know if she'd have been in the wreck, which injured the occupants of another vehicle, had her 2005 Chevy not shut off. GM settled the Melton family's case, although the details remain confidential.
