1966 Pontiac Catalina All Original No Reserve Auction Build Sheet Watch Video on 2040-cars
Rochester, New York, United States
Hello and thanks for looking at my auction. I don't know to much about the history on the car, but I will tell you what I know. I bought this car last year from a gentlemen who told me his dad owned it. The car was stored in a barn like garage for a while. Put the key in the ignition and she started right up with no problems. However, the car was dirty and the top had mold starting to grow on it due to being stored. I took some bleach with water and cleaned the mold, the top is in decent condition with no tears, however, the rear window is blurry. I was going to replace the top but nothing is wrong with it goes up and down with no problem ,however, someone installed a circuit breaker for the top so it goes up and there is a little delay 20 seconds then continues again. Here is a video click the link http://youtu.be/U7yvalQ2YGk With all that being said, the car is very original from what I see, it looks like it has been undercoated, It has the original 389 CI engine and the original tranny and rear end. The car drives excellent. The body panels seem all original and solid and so does the trunk. I am selling her because I got an opportunity to buy a 66 chevelle SS and I did. This is a no reserve auction so only bid if you have the funds and you are a serious buyer. My loss is your gain. This Catalina will not leave until all funds are cleared and a non refundable $1000 deposit is due within 24 hours thru pay pal of the auctions end method of payment preferred is cash in hand or bank wire transfer . Please ask any questions prior to bidding and all are welcome to come see the car before bidding. Thanks and good luck bidding.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later
Fri, 12 Sep 2014
Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series
Mon, 10 Mar 2014NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.
Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day
Thu, 07 Jun 2012Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.
