Palmetto, Florida, United States
NO RESERVE!!!! HIGH BIDDER WINS!!!!
THIS IS A 1968 PONTIAC CATALINA COUPE WITH FACTORY A/C.. I WILL DO MY BEST TO DESCRIBE THE CAR AS BEST I CAN..
A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE OWNS A PAWN SHOP, THE CAR WAS PAWNED TO HIM AND THE PERSON DID NOT PICK THE CAR BACK UP.. THE CAR HAS A 100% CLEAN AND CLEAR FLORIDA TITLE!!! NOW FOR THE DETAILS: I HAVE PERSONALLY DRIVEN THIS CAR APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES AT SPEEDS UP TO 60 MPH.. THE CAR STARTS, RUNS, SHIFTS, BRAKES ETC JUST AS IT SHOULD.. THE ONLY THING MECHANICAL THAT I WOULD SAY IS A MINOR ISSUE IS THAT THERE IS A CLUNK IN THE FRONT LEFT SOMEWHERE LIKE A WORNOUT BUSHING OF SOME SORT.. ALSO, THE A/C DOES NOT OPERATE HOWEVER, I HONESTLY MAY NOT BE HITTING THE CORRECT BUTTONS.. I WAS TOLD THE ENGINE WAS RECENTLY REBUILT, UNFORTUNATELY, I DO NOT KNOW THE DETAILS AS FAR AS PARTS ETC..
THE CAR IS VERY SOLID, STRAIGHT BODY PANELS, RUST FREE FLOORS ETC.. AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE PICTURES, THE PAINT SHOWS SOME FLAWS AS FAR AS SCRATCHES, CHIPS ETC.. THE HOOD HAS SOME AREAS OF FADING OR A PAINT BLEND THAT DIDNT QUITE GO THE WAY IT SHOULD HAVE.. THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR FENDER HAS SOME RUST STARTING OVER THE WHEEL.. THE RAIN GUTTERS SHOW SOME LIGHT RUST STARTING AS WELL..
THE BOTTOMS OF THE DOORS ARE SOLID AND RUST FREE.. THIS REALLY IS A SOLID OLD CAR!! GREAT FOR A WEEKEND CRUISER OR AN EASY RESTORATION!!! THE INTERIOR IS NICE FOR THE AGE, THE CLOTH SEAT IS COMPLETELY INTACT WITH NO MAJOR FLAWS.. THE DASH DOES HAVE (GLOVE BOX MOSTLY) SOME CRACKING FROM THE SUN.. PLEASE SEE ALL THE PHOTOS AND FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE.. IF YOU NEED TO SEE MORE PHOTOS, EMAIL ME AND I WILL BE HAPPY TO SEND THEM.. TERMS OF SALE: $500 DEPOSIT DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF AUCTION END. BALANCE DUE WITHIN 5 DAYS OF AUCTIONEND VIA CASH OR CASHIERS CHECK. BUYER RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL SHIPPING COSTS. WE ARE HAPPY TO ASSIST INSHIPPING AS FAR AS MEETING A TRUCK TO ENSURE SAFE LOADING.

Aficionauto sits down with The Hoff and KITT
Fri, 10 Oct 2014The latest video from The Aficionauto is the perfect palate cleanser for Knight Rider fans after finding out that Justin Bieber is the voice of KITT in an upcoming film. Host Christopher Rutkowski says that the Knight Industries Two Thousand is one of the most requested vehicles to appear on the series and for good reason - Michael Knight's Pontiac Trans-Am is among the most famous cars to ever appear on television.
While the video isn't able to showcase one of the original KITTs from the series, it does get star David Hasselhoff to drive his personal replica and talk about the lasting legacy of the show. The highlight here might be seeing The Hoff back behind the wheel in the open desert basically recreating Knight Rider's opening sequence.
With all of its flashing lights and gizmos, you can probably make the argument that KITT is pretty cheesy, and the show itself was never exactly a pillar of high-quality drama on television. Despite that, the series still provides a ton of good-natured fun, and The Hoff's continued enthusiasm for it is pretty infectious. Check out The Aficionauto video to take another ride with Knight Rider.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.
