1970 Pontiac Catalina 400 - 24,400 original miles. Runs great! This 4-door car came with an old house we're renovating and has been stored in the garage for several years. It belonged to a woman who died at 92 a couple years ago. The son sold the house and car together. We talked to a neighbor who would come over to start it for her just to let it run a few times a year. New battery, air filter & radiator hoses. Oil, brake and transmission fluids are clean and zero leaks on the ground. Engine sounds great, no ticks or knocking.  The last tag on the plate is dated 1997, so we're assuming that's the last year she drove it. We have the title which is clean and in our possession. We also have the original owner's manual which is in perfect shape as well as the invoice from the dealership. Paint is original (some paint discoloration on hood, roof and trunk), chrome is bright, virtually no rust and even air in the tires. For a Michigan car enduring the winters and road salt, you'd expect much more wear and rust, but it's in phenominal shape for its age.  The interior we'd classify as average. There was a home-restorative job on the driver's seat (see picture) with denim.  There are a couple small splits in the driverside seat back. The rear back dash would need some TLC as it most likely got sun scorched and shrunk over time. Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction upon local sale.  Located in Ludington, MI, buyer would be responsible for pickup.  $300 security deposit via PayPal due within 24 hours to hold the purchase.  Do not hesitate to contact me with any other questions.

2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am

Mon, 13 May 2013

No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.

Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.
