Up for Auction is a 1968 Pontiac Firebird.  I have been working on this car for the last eight years.  All of the heavy metal work has been done with all of the major rust ares removed and new metal welded in.  Including but not limited to complete one piece floor with toe boards, new quarters, outer door skins, complete trunk and rear frame rails.  The front clip is completely new -hood fenders, rad support ect.  It had a rotiserie restoration on the metal work.  the interior metal and jams have been based and cleared.  The undercarriage is also painted and cleared with undercoating.  The body was based and ready for final prep for paint but since has been moved around to multiple locations causing small dings all around.  I would say that it would have to be gone over again repair any imperfections prior to final refinishing. The suspension is all new from Total Cost Involved the front IFS  has the chrome and show package with the willwood brakes and stainless/chrome springs and arms.  It also has matching tubular subframe connectors matted to a TCI 4 link rear suspension with coilovers.  they are adjustable at all 4 corners.  the front IFS will take any chevy motor big block or small block some with or without adaptors.  The transmission cross member is adjustible as well.  The car does not come the 496 showed in one of the pictures it was pulled a month ago and sold.  It does come with a i-didit stainless steering column, fuel cell, radiator, transmission cooler with fan and complete new wiring harness(partial installed).  The interior metal has been treated with acoustic sound deadiner in spray and sheet form.  The door handles have been shaved and so has the rear fuel filler door and rear quarter markers.  The tci chassis parts alone were 10,000.00.  the metal and body work another 18000.00.  The rims and tires are new boss rims 20 in the rear and 18 in the front with yokohama tires s-drives another 1800.00.  This car is sold as is where is.  buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs.  Please checkout the pictures and ask any questions prior to bidding.  This is a project car with no power train. Reserve has been set way less than half of what i have into the car!

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.

This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.
Take a look below for a closer look at this rare and fascinating Oakland.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.
