This is my baby and I hate to see it go. Im buying a house and thats the only reason Im selling this beauty! The car started out life as a plain ole 79 Firebird but with tons of sweat, money and elbow grease I made it into this head turning beauty!

The old 301 was replaced with a fresh rebuilt 455 with all performance parts! It has roller rockers, high lift cam, gear to gear timing, new holley carb, eldebrock intake, headers and so much more. This engine is balanced and runs strong! There was over $5000 invested in just the engine alone! I have put roughly 6000 miles on the car since the rebuild. All the suspension is new with heavy duty springs, shocks, sway bars etc..The rear end is all rebuild with posi and 3:73 gears. The exhaust is all new and custom made. Most of the interior is new except for the drivers seat which the shop had somehow lost!!! But the drivers seat isnt too bad but is tore at the bottom. The paint looks great but there is minor flaws if you look very close. The nose is from a 1977 Trans Am. The underside of the car is as solid as a rock and very clean! It has a B&M slap shifter in it and it could use an adjustment but works fine as is once you get used to it. The Tires are brand new Cooper Cobras with about 2000 miles on them. When I had tires installed I also got a front end alignment. The Pioneer stereo sounds great with tons of bass! I have over 10 grand in this car and am just looking to recover some of my investment to put towards a down payment on a house.
If you have any questions please email or call 315-398-1160 Shawn  I also have my other 1979 Firebird on ebay if you are looking for a cheaper Firebird!

Aficionauto sits down with The Hoff and KITT

Fri, 10 Oct 2014

The latest video from The Aficionauto is the perfect palate cleanser for Knight Rider fans after finding out that Justin Bieber is the voice of KITT in an upcoming film. Host Christopher Rutkowski says that the Knight Industries Two Thousand is one of the most requested vehicles to appear on the series and for good reason - Michael Knight's Pontiac Trans-Am is among the most famous cars to ever appear on television.
While the video isn't able to showcase one of the original KITTs from the series, it does get star David Hasselhoff to drive his personal replica and talk about the lasting legacy of the show. The highlight here might be seeing The Hoff back behind the wheel in the open desert basically recreating Knight Rider's opening sequence.
With all of its flashing lights and gizmos, you can probably make the argument that KITT is pretty cheesy, and the show itself was never exactly a pillar of high-quality drama on television. Despite that, the series still provides a ton of good-natured fun, and The Hoff's continued enthusiasm for it is pretty infectious. Check out The Aficionauto video to take another ride with Knight Rider.

2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am

Mon, 13 May 2013

No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
