1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350 5.7l Lt1 Fast!! Professionally Painted on 2040-cars
Gilbert, Arizona, United States
This 1988 Pontiac Firebird has had a lot of TLC and money put into it to make it a great car. While it is not perfect it is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
The exterior of the car is in nearly perfect condition with a NEW two stage black paint job that was professionally done. NO dings, dents or rust anywhere on the car. The old rotten weather stripping has been replaced to keep the car tight form the outside elements. The glass is all in perfect condition with NEW tint on the side and rear window to keep the sun out and give the car an aggressive stealth look. The old rotten rubber rear spoiler was replaced before paint with a NEW factory correct rear fiberglass spoiler that will last for years. The tires are brand NEW 245/50r16 Cooper Zeon all weather tires mounted on the factory aluminum 16" WS6 wheels. Under the Hood is where this car really shines. The original and powerful 5.7L LT1 has been fitted with Edelbrock aluminum heads, Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock headers, Comp RV cam, K&N intake, high volume injectors, Custom 3" exhaust with flomasters and exhaust cutouts, Accel ignition, and has been SLP tuned. With these upgrades this car would be right at home on a friday night at the drag strip but still be a great daily driver! The chassis and suspension have also been upgraded. The front struts have been replaced with QA1 fully adjustable struts, all the bushings have been replaced with Energy suspension urathane bushings, and all the wear parts have been replaced. The interior of this car is in average to good condition. The front buckets and rear seat have been reupholstered with black and carbon fiber vinyl. The carpet, gauges, dash, door panels, and plastics are all in good shape. The headliner is a little ruff but not horrible, the center console lid is separating but again not horrible. The stereo has been removed. Overall this is a great car that can be driven and with a little more TLC it could be nearly perfect. Its not a project car or a piece of junk, every time I drive it I hesitate selling it because of how good it looks and how fun it is to drive. The worst problems with the car is that the fuel gauge is not working, every now and then there is a check engine light which gives me a mass air flow code, and the fact that its missing a stereo Willing to work with buyer on shipping but I do need a deposit of $500 and a contact phone number within 24 hrs of purchase. Thanks for looking |

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
GM repairing 40,500 Pontiac Vibes as part of Toyota airbag recall
Wed, 09 Apr 2014General Motors has confirmed to Autoblog that the Pontiac Vibe is included in Toyota's just-announced recall action. The Vibe and the Toyota Matrix share a large number of parts, including the affected cable to the airbag.
"About 40,500 Pontiac Vibes from the 2009-2010 model years are included in the Toyota recall. Toyota designed and engineered the Vibe for Pontiac. GM will service customers with these vehicles when Toyota makes the parts available," said GM recall spokesperson Alan Adler to Autoblog in an email.
The recall covers 1.3 million Toyota units in the US, including 2009-2010 Corolla, Matrix and Tacoma, the 2008-2010 Highlander, the 2006-2008 Rav4 and 2006-2010 Yaris, plus the addition of the 2009-2010 Vibe. The models all have their airbag module attached via a spiral electrical cable. The connections on this cable can be damaged when turning the steering wheel. Once broken, the airbag deactivates and the airbag warning light comes on. Toyota has an improved part, but it's still making preparations to begin repairs. It will begin notifying owners soon.
