2001 Pontiac Firebird Base Coupe 2-door 3.8l Very Nice!!! on 2040-cars
Lorain, Ohio, United States
Up for
sale is my parents very nice 2001 Pontiac firebird. I had just replaced the fuel pump on the car
not with a cheap aftermarket pump but a replacement Delphi pump. In the last 6
thousand miles I did a tune up replaced the spark plugs and wires. The car doesn’t
get driven much as you can tell by the low millage. The car isn’t driven in the
winter. The oil is always changed with synthetic oil between 3000-3500 miles. The
vehicle is solid the under carriage is clean. the vehicle has spent its early
years in Florida and once it made it way Ohio it was used during nice weather to
cruise around in. The Car is very dependable has not let them down. The
firebird is optioned very nicely I love the T-Tops. The car looks great for its
age the rear bumper has a scrape on it and few scratches here and
there but paint still has a nice shine. There are two things that I would like to
point out, the air dam is broken it’s only a 58 dollars on eBay haven’t had a chance
to order a replacement for it. The other thing is the lid for the center
console is broken just needs a lid. Those are the issue that I could find. The car
starts every time drives and stops great. The suspension is very tight no rattles
or clunks. The car is untouched expect the aftermarket radio. The Pontiac has No
performance upgrades car has not been hacked up. it is getting harder and
harder to find these cars in original shape. The Pontiac is sold as with no warranty
being expressed or implied.
Thanks again and have a good day, |

GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners
Fri, 28 Oct 2011This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.
Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO
Thu, 08 Aug 2013Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.
Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way
Tue, 21 Feb 2012There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.
