2002 PONTIAC FORMULA SLP FIREHAWK #149. TOTAL PRODUCTION OF 167 FORMULA FIREHAWKS IN 2002, THE LAST YEAR OF THE FIREBIRD. I BOUGHT THIS CAR 4 YEARS AGO WITH 23890 MILES. MY WIFE PICKED THE CAR UP IN BRIDGEPORT CONNECTICUT, AND DROVE IT TO BISMARCK ARKANSAS, WHICH IS ABOUT 1350 MILES. IVE PROBABLY PUT LESS THAN 400 MILES ON THE CAR SINCE IT ARRIVED. I AM THE SECOND OWNER, AND BOTH OWNERS WERE/ARE OVER 50 YEARS OLD. THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN RACED OR ABUSED, IVE NEVER EVEN SPUN THE TIRES. CAR HAS NEVER SEEN RAIN AND HAS BEEN STORED INSIDE SINCE BIRTH. CAR WAS BONE STOCK WHEN I PURCHASED IT. I BAGGED, TAGGED, AND RETAINED EVERY ORIGINAL PART REMOVED, SO IF THE NEW OWNER WOULD LIKE TO PUT IT IN ORIGINAL CONDITION, THE OPTION IS THERE. THE PAINT IS OVERALL GOOD FOR A 12 YEAR OLD CAR. THERE IS A CLEARCOAT BLEMISH ABOUT THE SIZE OF MY FINGERNAIL AFT OF THE DRIVERS WINDOW ON THE SAIL PANEL. IT WAS THERE WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR AND HASNT REALLY CHANGED. OTHER THAN THE SAIL PANEL, THE REST OF THE CLEARCOAT IS FINE. THERE IS ALSO A PAINT ONLY SCUFF JUST AFT OF THE DRIVERS REAR WHEEL WELL. I HAVE PICS OF BOTH OF THESE AREAS. THIS IS A REALLY NICE CAR, AND I SET MY RESERVE HUNDREDS LESS THAN THE NADA AVERAGE BLUE BOOK, PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BID.I'M SURE I MUST HAVE MISSED SOMETHING, IF YOU NEED A PIC OF SOMETHING I HAVE PLENTY. NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
