You are bidding on a great example of collectable Pontiac muscle, the 1967 Pontiac Firebird convertible. First generation, first year Firebird, nicely done in triple black, desirable 400 cu in motor. 400 hood with hood tach. Still retains the original owners manual and protectoplate. Purchased new in CA, Pontiac historical society documented, numbers matching car. Odometer shows 80400 miles and they are to be original, still has the original CA smog pump in place and functional, as well as the vintage T-3 headlights. Still has the CA smog sticker in the windshield. Description as follows:

* floors and underside very nice, finished in black satin

To summarize; hard to find, original Firebird, perfect for the collector or enthusiast. Sure to appreciate in value and getting harder to find in an unmolested condition. With that said, the only variable from original would be that the car was originally Tyrol Blue according to the PHS docs. Other than that everything appears to be original to the car. I see no evidence of the original color, the vehicle underwent a fairly extensive and professional repaint. Vehicle was painted a few years back, a few minor nicks and chips, nothing major. Still shows and shines extremely well. Please take the time to review all the pics and dont hesitate to call with further questions. 517-425-0129. I also have contact with a reasonable shipping company and would be glad to assist. Vehicle offered by Rare Rides, a licensed MI dealer.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
