Pontiac Firebird Formula, Project Car, Trans Am on 2040-cars
League City, Texas, United States
Pontiac Firebird Formula 1974 1977 1978 Car has been stored for 12 years. Don’t have much background other than it seems to be all there. The trunk pan seems to have been exposed to moisture and will need to be replaced. The driver side pan has a few holes that could be patched easily. The car will be sold as is. Car appears to be a 1977 or 78 front, after checking the VIN turns out it’s a 1974 Formula Firebird 350. Clear Texas title. Only story I have on this car is that it was stored for many years indoors. This is a nice project car. Put a fresh battery and started for a moment so I know the engine is free. Disk brakes on front and drum on back. Doors open and shut smooth and tight and line up. All glass looks good. All trim around glass looks good. Front windshield has cracks. Winning bidder will get all the extra parts that come with it (rear view mirror, correct door mirrors, 2 front fenders, 2 inner fenders, core support and everything else that is attached to this extra front clip). If you are looking for a great project car, this is it. Car will be running in true auction style. Starting bid $200 with no reserve. Good Luck. VIN (2U87N4N15xxxx) reads: 2 = Pontiac U = Formula 87 = Sport Coupe N = 350 cid, 2bbl, V8, dual exhaust 4 = 1974 N = Norwood, OH 15xxxx = sequence number Car sold as is. Buyer responsible for pick up and/or shipping. Will try to answer any questions. |

Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series
Mon, 10 Mar 2014NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
