This GTO is a very special car and marks the first production year for the GTO. This is a Pontiac Historic Society (PHS) Documented car. It is also a complete numbers matching car from Engine, Transmission and Rear end. It also has the highly desired Correct Color Code Yorktown Blue Metallic paint. This car has many desirable options such as the original 4-spoke wood-grain steering wheel, tilt steering, Factory Console, Optional Factory 4-spd M-20 transimission, and original 3:23 rear end. The Engine is the Original 78X code 4-bbl. engine.  The TRI-Power was an ad on and the intake and all three carburetor are date code correct for this car! Additional options include Push-button radio, Deluxe Wheel Discs, Back-up lamps, Console and bucket seats, 7:50x14 REDLINE tires.

Condition

This GTO is Rust-Free North Carolina car from new and is extremely solid. The car has no rust issues to speak of. The chassis and floors are so clean and smooth. There is no undercoating underneath this car. The underside is incredibly original. The car has been completely restored with new paint in the correct color code Yorktown Blue. The paint has been polished to show car luster and was redone about 8 years ago. The interior was redone as well with new seat covers, door panels, headliner, dash pad, door sill plates, chrome armrests, sun-visors and carpet. The original bumpers were triple chrome plated and look spectacular.  The mileage was put back to zero when restored. It is now showing 3,765 miles. The original motor and transmission has been rebuilt during the restoration. The 389 engine is extremely powerful. The TRIPOWER Carburetion have been totally rebuilt and operate as new. When the TRI-POWER opens up the car will scream.  You can drive this car anywhere with confidence. The only thing not working currently is the Clock in dash. All other gauges, lights, etc work great. As for merits, this GTO has won at every car show entered and has won numerous trophies. The paint is gorgeous on the car but there are couple of chips and imperfections from use. The glass is all in excellent shape. All of the chrome is in great condition. This is truly an incredible driving car. This car draws a crowd no matter where it goes. This is not the caliber of car that would require to be trailered to car shows. This is one that you can drive and enjoy. You really must see and drive this GTO to appreciate it.
