1968 Pontiac Gto Gto on 2040-cars
Wayne, Nebraska, United States
For more pictures email at: laurenlssaladino@sheffwedfans.com . 1968 Pontiac GTO. Numbers matching car! Bought it out of Iowa where it's been since day 1. Beautiful car with a 7
year old restoration with about 500 miles on that restoration. The original Engine has about 40,000 miles on it.
VIN is stamped on the front. Turbo 400 transmission has been rebuilt with shift kit about 500 miles ago. Under hood
is detailed and is very nice. Posi rear end with I think 3:23 gears. This car runs, drives accelerates, and handles
very good. Some original paperwork included too.
The body is absolutely beautiful. Dead straight. Very minor, if any, imperfections. Paint shine beautifully.
Re-chromed bumper. New fender well trim and decals. Wheels have been restored, excellent tires. Trunk has been
spackled and is in excellent condition. New trunk mat. New spare tire on wheel. Full new quarter panels and all the
rest looks to be original sheet metal. Pictures of restoration included in the sale, Front rubber bumper has a
couple of hair line cracks. Grill restored and optional hide away headlights work perfectly.
The interior has had the carpet and headliner replaced. Seats are original as well as the door panels, dash,
steering wheel. I do have correct factory Seat covers for it. I will throw in on the deal. Dash has minor crack on
passenger side. Original am fm radio. Has rear speaker switch and rear defogger. Rally dash. All lights, horn, turn
signals work fine. The interior is somewhat rare with the bench seat and column shift. The air conditioner works. A
lot of new A/C parts were installed. The fan blower should blow harder than it does.
Under body is solid and original. Has had under coating. Exhaust, shocks etc all are in good condition. Get in it
and drive! A great car that gets the attention and thumbs up wherever you go.

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative
Tue, 29 Oct 2013How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?
General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]
Fri, 26 Aug 2011You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.
Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial
Sat, 16 Mar 2013
The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
