As seen in the title I have a 2004 Pontiac GTO. Six speed manual. Just hit 34,000 original miles which is very hard to come by on this car. It was just driven on nice weekends, summer days, etc. It has a 5.7 liter V8 (LS1, same as corvette engines). I am the second owner. Garage kept all year round, never seen snow or salt. Its in incredible condition. Just a couple nicks in the front of the hood from highway driving. It has been modeled after the PFYC GTO Banshee that won SEMA auto shows in Las Vegas. It has an aftermarket fiberglass Ram Air hood and spoiler from the Banshee. The back windows have 5% tint. The wheels and badges WERE plasti-dipped black and NOW are peeled back to alloy. I put on new Continental DWS tires about 5k ago. Exhaust sounds great, it shifts smooth and it has no mechanical issues what so ever. It runs and drives perfect. Its been babied its whole life and is a real head turner. As you can see I have a lot of time and money invested into such a beautiful car. If you have any questions feel free to send me an email. General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]
Fri, 26 Aug 2011You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.

Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
