2006 Goat for sale... car has 78,xxx miles and is my DD, has the big 6.0 up front that is fitted with an AEM Brute force Intake, LS7 Cam, Ported and polished stock heads, SLP long tube headers, SLP Loudmouth 1 catless exhaust, Slickspeed oil pump, Mild tune and other little tweaks. Suspension is Eibach Proline springs and Monroe Struts and shocks which are about 6 months old and in great shape. Brakes are PBR direct form Austrailia Crossed Drilled and slotted rotors, with Hawk pads and the coveted EVO IX wheel studs which are longer than stock. Interior is custom painted red and black, and I recently installed a Jensen 7" touch screen with Rockford Fosgate 6.75" Speakers all the way around. It has BMW M3 CSL wheels and the tires are 235/35/19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cups which brand new were around 1700 Bucks alone. I have 1 spare brand new Pilot sport and the actual spare that came with the car, as long as the factory springs. This is about as nice as a GTO as you can find nowadays. Only issue is the custom interior paint that is aging a bit and has a couple cracks in the paint(NOT CRACKING THE ACTUAL INTERIOR PIECES) but just the paint itself. Still looks great but if you really focus in, you can see them.  Digital Speedo has a LED out but I have a replacement Speedo Assembly that goes with car. I am willing to deliver the car to as far as Dallas if the price is right. Make offers, want to get into an EVO X, so need to move this beast quickly! Text 3612497014 or call, ask for Jared. THX for looking!

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.

GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
