1967 Pontiac Gran Prix Convertible Project Car. Please view all photos for condition description, I have tried to show types of defects to the best of my knowledge and have no knowledge of any mechanical defects. Motor ran great and car was in driving condition 8 years ago when I purchased. Electrical items have not been checked. Sold non running or driving and Must be transported.  Body work was done approximately 10 years ago by previous owner and still looks good but has some scratches and blemishes and some minor rust from storage. Motor runs but backfires through the carburetor, needs carburetor work and gas tank cleaned. No Brakes from long term sitting, windshield is cracked, exhaust must be replaced, tires hold air but must be replaced. Has power windows, factory air, compressor is off but will be included. Top mechanism works and is in good condition. Right door lock has come loose inside the door and door does not open and will need the door  panel removed to release the mechanism. Floors appear solid. Trunk floor is ok but has surface rust and two small holes about a 1/4 inch in diameter. Includes original fender skirts, jack and a box of misc. parts. Bumpers etc need re-chromed and Mileage cannot be confirmed. Sold AS IS with transferable New York registration from previous owner and notarized bill of sale from the previous owner.  I have owned this car for the last 8 years with intention to restore and realize I will never get started and no longer have covered storage so must be sold. Buyer needs to arrange for pick up and pay for all shipping costs with a $500 deposit through pay pal due within 24 hours of auction end and payment in full  within one week by cash or bank wire. Car will cannot be removed prior to payment received in full. I understand with weather issues it may be difficult to remove the auto quickly and I will do my best to work with the buyer for pick up. Remember this is a project or use as parts car. Not Running, sold as is with no warranty of any type implied or otherwise.

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.

Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.

Sci-fi movie Jinn features car designer, Firebird-bodied Camaro

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you're an automotive engineer being tormented by an immortal being made of fire, then wouldn't you think it best to have a custom coupe called the FireBreather for your getaway car? That's the FireBreather in the image above, adorned by the red wings that once fronted the Pontiac Firebird, running away from a black cloud of evil in a trailer for the movie Jinn.
The Jinn is eternal evil, always waiting for the chance to make things float across rooms before going on homicidal urban rampages. The FireBreather is a Gen-V Chevrolet Camaro - from the V6 to the ZL1 - that's been through Classic Design Concepts' extensive list of exterior and interior modifications, including entirely new front and rear fascias and side skirts, sway bars and springs, Pirelli P Zeroes and an available Edelbrock supercharger.
The movie - FireBreathing chase scenes and all - was shot in Monroe, Michigan. You can watch the trailer below, but since the FireBreather only get a couple of seconds on screen, you can find out more about it on Street Legal TV and its official site.
