1969 Pontiac Grand Prix Model Sj With 428 Cid V8 Engine on 2040-cars
Albany, Oregon, United States
Up for bid is a 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix Model SJ with a 428 Cid 370 H.P. V8 engine. This was a California car. This is a P.H.S. documented vehicle that has numbers matching engine, trans, rear end and all engine components such as heads, block, water pump, distributor, alternator, carb, etc… Power steering, Power brakes, Power windows, Cruise control, Automatic trans with the factory installed special side shifter feature, Air conditioning and new vinyl top. Engine was professionally rebuilt in early 2013 and has less than 600 miles. The transmission and rear end were also serviced. This car runs great and drives great. The suspension, steering and brake systems were completely rebuilt. The Rims are 15"x 8" Pontiac Rally wheels with B.F. Goodrich tires that have less than 1000 miles on them. The interior was completely redone with all the correct material and colors to match. The body needs some bodywork such as both front fenders and both front and rear valances along with a few small dings and dents. I have another trunk lid that is in great condition that goes with the car. The things that don't work are the cruise control and the clock in the dash. The P.H.S. documentation goes with the vehicle when sold. The vehicle is located in Albany Oregon and if you would like to inspect the vehicle feel free to contact me at (541) 259-4278 to make an appointment. The vehicle transport is the full responsibility of the buyer. We will assist as much as possible. Any questions contact me by email. I have invested over $17,000.00 and I am looking for a reasonable offer. |

Watch this garbage truck consume a Pontiac Grand Am
Wed, 15 May 2013When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion. Next time, we won't feel so guilty about slipping that rusty charcoal grille onto the curb next to the cans on garbage day. Watch the carnage by scrolling below.
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
