Low Mileage, Highly Optioned Original Model J With Documentation on 2040-cars
Hayes, Virginia, United States
Up for auction is my extremely clean, documented 1973 Pontiac Grand Prix. It is avery much original Model J and is as solid and reliable as any late model car. This car is ready for the road but it wouldn't take much to bring it up to the next show level. This is the best color combination and everywhere it goes, it gets compliments and always draws a crowd at car shows. The paint is basecoat/clearcoat Florentine Red that was repainted only once last year. It has the original vinyl top that looks OK but if you are looking to seriously show it, it should be replaced. It has the original Pontiac Rallye II wheels that look great. The interior of the car is all original red velour and is in great shape except for a split along the seam of the drivers seat. The car has only 75000 miles on it and comes with a stack of paperwork to prove its low mileage, including the original bill of sale and window sticker. Everything works including COLD AIR CONDITIONING! It also has power windows, locks, drivers seat, and trunk lid and they all work as well. The original 400 has never been touched. All the parts are original and it runs great. I just took it on a 600 mile road trip to West Virginia. It can be hard to start when cold but when it warms up its fine so it could probably stand to have a carb rebuild. The transmission is the original Turbo 400 and the rear is a B-O-P 10 bolt with 2.73 gears. Its a great highway cruising car. It also has power steering and brakes. Every panel on the car is the original from the factory. The chrome is all there and looks great. I have owned this car for 2 years and representing it the best I can. The car is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction anytime. This is an auction and I will not reveal the reserve. |

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial
Sat, 16 Mar 2013
The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO
Mon, 24 Jun 2013Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.
