This GTO "clone" Lemans is a great start on a restoration or use for the GTO parts for your car. It was stored for approx 20 years and has restoration started before that. The engine is a 350 pontiac that starts up and runs great with no noises or smoke. I fill the float bowl to start it. The trans is the stock trans and i dont know the condition. It did jerk the car when i first started it because it was in gear. As for the interior, it has its original bucket seats and rear seat. the buckets are tore a bit and the rears are very nice. rear side panels are good and the door panels are usable. Original center console missing glove box door. Original shifter with bad cable. NO carpet. The floors in this car are extremely solid with a couple small spots about the size of ur thumb. Headliner is tore. Dash has some cracks in the pad and someone installed a tach in the dash. Nice original steering wheel. Horn works. Glass is all there, windows go up and down, windshield is cracked. As for the body, i'll start in the back. I have a rear bumper that is straight but needs chrome, and one taillight. The decklid has rust and should be replaced. The drivers quarter has one patch behind the wheel and will need another in front of the wheel, the lower rear quarter is solid. rear tail pan has some rust behind the bumper. Passenger quarter has had a half quarter installed correctly and will need almost no attention to finish. Trunk floor will need replaced along with the gas tank mounts. The tank straps are there. I have the tank and it is usable, it was removed to repair the trunk. Drivers door is usable and will need minor repair. Passenger door has rusted inner, up to u if u can fix it or replace. The roof had some aggressive pitting due to the old vinyl top that someone started to repair and never finished. some rusting along the drivers front piller and under the windshield on the passenger side, solid under drivers side. The hood shows minor rust in the nose in the photo but i have plasma cut the rust out and welded new patches in the bad areas. It was done correctly. I also repaired the inner underside of the nose but it will need to be finished. Over all it made the hood a very usable hood. These hoods are not reproduced and extremely hard to find. The scoops are present and in good shape. The drivers fender is very solid with a minor dent around the front marker light. The vents are also in both fenders and they are original one year only "72" fenders. The passenger finder is solid with very small bubbles in the lower corner. The front enduro bumper is straight and in extremely good condition. Both headlight housings are in super shape with all hardware in them. I do not know the condition of the lights. The grills are very nice and complete with the GTO letters in the drivers grill. The front lower valance is there, not rusted, few dents. I have the front signals that go in it. The wheels are correct for the car but not original to it. Tire hold air and will work for moving the car around. The frame is straight and very solid also.I have not driven the car due to the gas tank being removed but the brakes are up on the car. I have described the car to the best of my ability and honestly. I will gladly answer any and all questions that u might have about the car. The front clip alone is almost worth what im asking for the entire car. I have put a low reserve and a low But it Now price. As an incentive i will give FREE with the car, a NEW trunk floor if the car is purchased using the Buy it Now option. The car is for sale locally and has a possibility of selling before the auction ends. I am including my personal cell number for serious people who may need further information about condition or shipping. You will need to pick it up or send a shipper who can haul a non drivable car. I want to thank u for taking the time to look at my car. 989-670-2700

Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes

Thu, 10 May 2012

When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.
