2000 PONTIAC FIREBIRD TRANS AM LS1




I am pleased to offer this beautiful 2000 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am equipped with a 5.7 liter 350 c.i LS1 engine mated to a 4 speed turbo hydromatic transmission. Other features include factory T-Tops, air conditioning and leather interior. This Trans Am was sold new by Kelley Buick in Fort Wayne, Indiana and has remained in Indiana until now. In 2004 it moved to its second owner in Elkhart, Indiana and finally was sold again in 2013 to an individual from Brownsburg, Indiana. This Pontiac has a perfect Carfax showing no accident damage. Carfax available on request. The body is just about perfect. I could not find anything that I would consider an imperfection. Please realize that a stone chip or faint paint scratch might exist under very close scrutining. I think you will be very pleased of the look of this gorgeous Firebird. Inside you will find beautiful black leather interior. The only fault is am imperfection on the side of the dash that could be easily repaired by a vinyl specialist. I have estimated an minimal cost and thus reflected this by adjusting my reserve. There are no other cosmetic issues. This Trans Am will include the floor mats but I do not have the books. This Pontiac is a ball to drive and is very powerful. The 350 C.I LS1 engine is equipped with a BBK performance intake system and 80 mm throttle body. I do not have a history on other possible modifications as it has SLP decals under the hood. There are no mechanical issues with this car however the check engine light is on and I will have that serviced. I only take this Pontiac out on a nice day and we have not had much of that this year. Other things to mention is the nicely tinted windows and near new tires on factory original wheels that show no major curb rash. I hope you lover this Trans Am as much as I do and I strongly feel that values are rising for these last hi performance Firebirds. This 1927 Oakland is a minimalist hot rod

There are hundreds of American automakers that sprung up during the dawn of the automotive era, only to fold into obscurity or get gobbled up by what would eventually become the Big Four (yes, we're counting AMC here). Oakland is one such company, which was the forbearer for General Motors' Pontiac division. Sold until 1931, you simply don't see Oakland-badged cars anymore. Unless, that is, you know Brian Bent.
Bent drives a 1927 Oakland that still rides on wooden wheels. Its original wooden wheels, from the sound of it. That makes this anachronist and his Oakland the perfect subject for a Petrolicious video. Like many of the cars highlighted by Petrolicious, this old Oakland has had some work done to it, featuring a Pontiac flathead engine that's been pushed forward and a clutch pack built by Bent.

'67 Chevy Corvair convertible vs. '86 Pontiac Fiero in cult classic showdown

Every few a decades, the folks running General Motors lose their minds briefly try to market a car that public doesn't see coming and often aren't ready for. In the '60s there was the rear-engine, air-cooled Chevrolet Corvair, then the mid-engine Pontiac Fiero in the '80s and the completely bizarre Chevy SSR in the 2000s. What all of these had in common was that they bucked the trend for American models of their era, for better or worse. The latest episode of Generation Gap tasked the hosts with finding two cult classic vehicles to choose between; they came come up with two of these quirky products from The General.
On the classic side, there's a 1967 Chevy Corvair Monza convertible. Being from later in the production run, it wears slightly more aerodynamic styling than the earlier, boxier examples. Hanging out back is an air-cooled, 2.7-liter flat-six pumping out a robust 95 horsepower. In the other corner is the somewhat more modern 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE with a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter "Iron Duke" four-cylinder, an engine nearly ubiquitous in GM cars of the '80s.
Judging by when they were new, the Corvair was far more successful than the Fiero with over 1.8 million sold. Of course, Ralph Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed kind of poisoned the well, even if the poor safety reputation wasn't entirely deserved. The Fiero on the other hand only lasted for a few model years before shuffling off, but it eventually got its own performance boost with the V6 version and rather attractive GT models. GM doing fine at retaining Pontiac owners

This isn't the first time we've reported positive news about General Motors retaining former Pontiac owners. Get a few more stories like this latest report from Edmund's Auto Observer, and it will mark an ongoing positive trend for GM. Edmunds.com crunched the numbers to see how well the General is hanging on to customers after shutting out the lights at Pontiac, and it found that nearly 40 percent of Pontiac owners stayed with a vehicle from a General Motors brand.
The numbers are a little lower than an earlier R.L. Polk & Company study, but Edmunds says General Motors is keeping more former Pontiac buyers than it has since 2007. Most are turning to vehicles from Chevrolet, especially during January and February of 2011, when GM incentivized Pontiac owners to stay under the umbrella. Those moves seem to have worked, and 28.1 percent of Pontiac owners trading up made the jump into a Bowtie.
Buyers that have gone elsewhere have largely stayed loyal to Domestic automakers, with Ford picking up the most conquests from Pontiac, with 9.4 percent switching. Toyota and Honda picked up 7.4 percent of the pool of former Pontiac drivers. The numbers are defying any predictions that Pontiac buyers would completely exit the General Motors fold, and have climbed up closer to parity with the retention figures of other GM brands from a 2009 low of only 16 percent retention.
