1974 Pontiac Trans Am on 2040-cars
Kenosha, Wisconsin, United States
1974 Pontiac Trans Am Selling this vehicle for my uncle. He loves this car dearly and hates to see it go.... just in a real pinch for the money. It has been garage kept since he purchased it in 1980. He had it custom painted in 1985 "Corvette" red. It was painted locally and all of the trans am bird logos were painted on custom. It had been stored for the last 7+ years in his heated garage up on jacks. It would make a great driver. The front bumper does need a piece replaced as can be seen in the photo. The frame and body are very solid. In the hood cut out you can see a little rust forming. There is a 2nd hood that comes with it along with the original snowflake wheels. It has a 10 bolt rear end.... and he has a 2nd 10 bolt rear sitting in his garage for it. The vehicle has its original 400 CID engine. It has a 400 trans. Dual exhaust. Car was manufactured in Norwood, Ohio. The car was up and running when I went to take the photos for him. Said he took it out and it is running great. The interior is also custom with black leather and red suede inserts. Please message me with any further questions. |

Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO
Mon, 24 Jun 2013Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.
GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll
Tue, 25 Feb 2014
588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
