What we have here is a 1975 Trans Am with PS, PB, Heater, 4spd car A/C delete. By the vin as best as I can decipher it was a 455 HO car but that motor was lost years ago and I was told that by the third owner that I bought the car from. I,ve owned her for about 3yrs now and have enjoyed driving her. The paint was done years ago and is jet black and beautiful and the car is laser straight as you can see from the pics. The interior is all original with no cracks in the dash, no tears in the seats or head liner, door panel etc. There is a little wear on the driver side wear you get in and out that expected. As you can see from the pics the motor is red that because it is a 1970 LS6 454 out of a 1970 Corvette with about 5,000 miles since rebuild. As you see from the pics I have a Formula hood with the cut out for the shaker with the Bird, I do have the original hood with the bird on it as well. I,m a big kid at 53 and got that idea from the movie Corvette Summer in 1979. What I,ve done to the car is 1) the Formula Hood, 2)HoneyComb Wheels and Tires, 3)Clutch & Pressure Plate, 4)New Shocks, 5)Brighter Head Light but don't drive her at night, 6) New Starter that's it. She runs and drives perfect with no issues or leaks or over heating or anything. If your looking for an all original T/A then this is not the car for you! But if your looking for a driver that you can drive every day and not worry about putting miles on it  this is the one. Any questions please call me Mark A. Ledford at 512-585-7788 No warranty is implied, the car is forsale in my area so this auction could end at anytime, I dont accept pay pal. A $5000.00 deposit will be due at the end by wire transfer and the end of auction and the balance within 3 days.

'67 Chevy Corvair convertible vs. '86 Pontiac Fiero in cult classic showdown

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

Every few a decades, the folks running General Motors lose their minds briefly try to market a car that public doesn't see coming and often aren't ready for. In the '60s there was the rear-engine, air-cooled Chevrolet Corvair, then the mid-engine Pontiac Fiero in the '80s and the completely bizarre Chevy SSR in the 2000s. What all of these had in common was that they bucked the trend for American models of their era, for better or worse. The latest episode of Generation Gap tasked the hosts with finding two cult classic vehicles to choose between; they came come up with two of these quirky products from The General.
On the classic side, there's a 1967 Chevy Corvair Monza convertible. Being from later in the production run, it wears slightly more aerodynamic styling than the earlier, boxier examples. Hanging out back is an air-cooled, 2.7-liter flat-six pumping out a robust 95 horsepower. In the other corner is the somewhat more modern 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE with a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter "Iron Duke" four-cylinder, an engine nearly ubiquitous in GM cars of the '80s.
Judging by when they were new, the Corvair was far more successful than the Fiero with over 1.8 million sold. Of course, Ralph Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed kind of poisoned the well, even if the poor safety reputation wasn't entirely deserved. The Fiero on the other hand only lasted for a few model years before shuffling off, but it eventually got its own performance boost with the V6 version and rather attractive GT models. Check them both out in the video and tell us in Comments which you want in your garage.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
