Up for sale is my 1976 Trans Am. It has the 400 Pontiac engine and automatic transmission. This is an original 57,000 mile car that is completely unmolested. Prior to me registering the car this past fall, the last time it was registered was in 1991. It has the original air conditioning compressor and belt. The black interior is also in good, original condition. The dash pad is not cracked and nice. The original FM radio is still in the dash. The console is also original and in excellent condition. The front seats have some splitting and need to be recovered. The back seat is original and in good condition. All the glass is in good condition. The car will need a complete paint job. I did an Earl Scheib touch up so it didn’t look as bad when we drove it on the road. The car is super solid. The floor pans are in nice condition and still have the red oxide primer. The drivers side pan near the big, oval plug will need a little repair. Otherwise the floors are excellent. The trunk pan is also in good condition. It has two quarter size holes which were under the seam sealer. The right rear quarter is shot. I think a skin would take care of the issue and they are available for $99 at Summit Racing. The rest of the body is decent, but will need a patch in the usual spots. The polycast wheels are in nice condition with a set of original Uniroyal tires that have about 2000 miles on them. This is a nice, original Trans Am that will be very nice with some body work and new paint. The reason I am selling it is to finance my other project. All the proceeds from this sale will be going to purchase parts for my other car. Please let me know if you have any questions. 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am
Mon, 13 May 2013No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.

Airbag recall adds 85k Pontiac Vibes to tally
Fri, 13 Jun 2014The repairs needed for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata continue to expand. Toyota initially announced a recall of 766,300 vehicles equipped with the bad part on June 11 as a followup to a campaign from 2013. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary evaluation into five automakers who also used the component in their models. Now, NHTSA has released the official announcement of the latest Toyota recall listing 844,277 affected cars, including the newly added 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe.
While NHTSA's document didn't include a model-by-model breakdown, General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler estimated to Autoblog that roughly 85,000 Vibes in the US would be covered under the latest recall. Like the rest of the affected models, the airbag inflator could rupture in a crash causing the bag not to work correctly, possibly spraying metal fragments at the occupant.
Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight told Autoblog that the reason for the disparity between the earlier press release and NHTSA document was that Toyota was continuing to comb through VINs to create a list of affected vehicles. CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero
Fri, 26 Oct 2012At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."
