This 10th Anniversary Trans Am is in very good condition with all original body panels with no rust or body filler. This is a list of what has recently been done to the car. Super straight body with Professional PPG Base Coat Clear Coat, water sanded and buffed. All new original 10th Anniversary decals installed. New windshield, wipers, carpet, door panels, headliner, hat rack, and leather seats re-upholstered with all certified original materials. The dash and console are in very good condition and all plastic interior parts have been re-dyed. All new rubber seals for doors, trunk and T-Tops.  All gauges, lights, bulbs, blinkers, and power windows are working correctly. T-Tops are in good condition and do not leak. New Tires on original Turbo wheels. Transmission and positive traction rear end are believed to be original and are performing well. The engine is not original but is the more desirable Pontiac 400 from a 1979 Trans Am. Engine has been tuned with new plugs, belts, air filter, and carb.  re-worked. It has a new battery and runs strong. New dual exhaust system sounds awesome. The odometer on the original gauge of this vehicle shows 57,980 miles and is believed to be the true mileage with no way to verify.  I have a working original AC compressor from a 1979 Trans Am and a new AC Dryer that have not yet been installed.  The original 8 track is in the car and the clock is working. The original speakers have been removed so there is not a working sound system in the car. I have the original jack and tire tools, I do not have the original spare.

This collector car is climbing in value and would be a great investment, the reserve is at a point where this car should sale. Call with any questions. David 205 281-8886

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?

DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
