Here we have a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am 10th Anniversary car. This car is a numbers matching car. It has all its original drivetrain. The panels on the outside are all original as well. This car has NO rust and never did. The car was kept somewhere dry. You can run your fingers underneath and feel this car had no rust or previous repairs anywhere that I can tell. It has a fresh paint job on it. The old paint was just faded from no waxing over the past years in storage. It has all new decals on the whole car. The car needs to be finished but all the hard stuff is done. The interior needs to be finished. It has a new dash installed and a new carpet installed. It needs to have the seats finished. The car runs and drives good. The brakes were gone through and cleaned up. All the tires are fairly new with plenty of life left on them. The car runs but does need some fine tuning. It does NOT smoke or make any weird engine noises. It's runs and sounds good. I did just change the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, oil, filter, etc....It has been sitting for a long time so it never gets driven except to move it around the yard a little. It is missing the a/c compressor, brackets, and lines. Some guy thought it would be a good idea to remove because it would shed some weight and make the car faster. The stupid things kids do to cars sometimes... There are some little bullshit things that the car needs to be 100% up to par. There is no radio. But they did NOT cut up the dash for and aftermarket radio. For the most part this car was unmolested. It was not all cut up and beat on. It was put away dry so the body is very straight with no bondo heaven to find. All the hard and expensive stuff is done to the car so give it your finishing touches and make it a car worth over 20K. You could put the original interior in it or put your own. You could also leave it the way it is. It is clean and has seat covers. These cars are very rare. Even more rare to find a numbers matching one. I am setting the reserve very low considering the car needs to be finished. I am open to all offers so try your best. I have the car listed locally so if it sells before auction ends I will be ending the auction early. I am sure I missed something in the description. I am selling it as a project for very cheap because it needs to be finished. I am NOT selling a 100 point show car. The paint looks beautiful but needs some fine tuning and interior work. I advise anyone to come look at the car in person if you can. If you can't there are companies out there that do this for you. USE THEM. This car is being sold with NO warranties implied or given. Being sold as is. The car runs and drives under its own power. It shifts all thorough the gears and stops fine. Needs interior and some odds and ends. I try to be as honest as possible this way you know what you are getting and there are NO surprises. If you want a pic of something I will send it to you. Just don't wait till the last day and ask for 20 pics. It will not happen. Call me at 347-386-4048 if you would like to talk about the car. If no answer leave a message and I will call back. My work schedule is crazy. Sometime days and sometimes nights. I will call you back. Good luck bidding and please ask questions where possible. Be serious and don't waste anyone's time. I also have a good shipper that I use. He is a one man company with a nice trailer and fully insured. He is usally quicker and cheapier than all these big companys. I will provide his info to you for a quote. He is good and takes very good care of your car. The shipping has nothing to do with me. I will just point you in a good direction. Its up to you to use or not.

Rumormill: DeLorean Motor Company considering rescuing Pontiac Solstice?
Wed, 07 Oct 2009 DeLorean Motor Company Pontiac Solstice renderings - Click above for high-res image gallery
General Motors has made a science out of sharing platforms. So when the company's Kappa platform was introduced for a new rear-drive roadster to be distributed across three different motor divisions, you'd have figured the program was pretty safe, right? Unfortunately for the workers at the Wilmington Assembly Plant which manufactured the Kappa roadsters, those three divisions were Pontiac, Saturn and Opel - three units which the General has either sold or shut down. Which is a shame, because a perfectly good rear-drive roadster platform is a heck of a thing to waste.
In one of the strangest rumors we've heard recently, however, our compatriots over at Jalopnik report that the DeLorean Motor Company (yes, that DeLorean Motor Company) is considering buying the plant and the platform from GM and putting it back into production as a new DMC.
GM recalling another 2.7 million vehicles in five separate campaigns
Thu, 15 May 2014The recalls keep rolling in from General Motors, evidently keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of the ignition-switch debacle and clean house. This time they're all coming at once, with five separate recalls announced together covering approximately 2.7 million vehicles.
The largest of the five actions involves over 2.4 million units of the previous-generation Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in order to fix brake light wiring harness, which have been found to be susceptible to corrosion. The recall is separate from the 56k Aura sedans which GM recently recalled over faulty shift cables, not to mention the previous massive recall of 1.3 million vehicles - some of them the same models - but appears to have resulted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation that started with the G6 almost a year ago.
The second-largest campaign involves the 2014 Chevy Malibu, specifically those fitted with GM's 2.5-liter engine and stop/start system, approximately 140,000 examples of which has been found to have problematic brakes. The issue does not appear to be connected to the recall of 8k Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans (also involving brake woes) which we reported upon last week. Four crashes have been reported in such models, but GM admits it's not yet clear if the problem was a contributing factor in the accidents.
Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
