We have the Pontiac Historical Documents for this vehicle.

This car has had a complete rotisserie restoration. We have approx. $40,000.00 in receipts for the restoration. All documentation and receipts will be included in the sale of this vehicle. All body work was done by Getz's Auto Body in Hampshire, Illinois. The receipt for their work alone is $24,179.84. Restoration was completed in early 2001. Since that time the vehicle has been stored in a temperature controlled environment, never taken out in the rain, only driven to local car shows 3-5 times a year.

We do not have the Snowflake wheels for this vehicle or the Bird decal for the hood. All are available from Year One.

This TransAm was my husbands "project" vehicle. He had visions of us retiring and hauling the car with a motorhome from car show to car show. But life happens while your busy making other plans.

Our grandson was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Our son is a Seargant in the Air Force but our daughter in law had to quit her job to care for our grandson and we would like to be able to help them out financially during this time because money is the last thing they need to worry about. Priorities have definitely shifted for us;.

Neither one of us is very auto-tech-savvy but we will do our best to answer any questions you may have or put you in touch with someone who was actually part of the restoration. I will happily take and send any additional photos you would like.

We understand that we will never re-coup our $40,000.00. It was never our intent to. Similar cars (not many out there) are going for $23-29,000.00. We are looking for a quick sell. Many more pictures available including undercarriage and documents.  Complete binder of receipts and documents goes with car.

Thanks for looking.

Watch this garbage truck consume a Pontiac Grand Am

Wed, 15 May 2013

When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion. Next time, we won't feel so guilty about slipping that rusty charcoal grille onto the curb next to the cans on garbage day. Watch the carnage by scrolling below.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM

Fri, 16 Oct 2009

Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
