You are looking at a rare 1985 Trans am and a rare piece of GM and Nascar history. It is one of one being the only PHS documented 85 Daytona 500 Pace car, but it was actually delivered directly to GM new in 85 for use at Daytona and Nascar. I have the PHS documents showing GM delivery to Pontiac MI, GM discounting, and original key tag that shows official GM vehicle, Envelope showing it was a GM brass hat car and that GM was the originating owner, all original owners manuals, warranty folders, books, receipts from 1st owner, copy of original title. Etc. It is loaded with original GM and Pontiac documentation. It also has 2 magazines with the car-one with it in it, and another featuring the pace car back in 1985. (Complete with Documentation Binder and story board)

Keep in mind in 85 the pace car was built in conjunction with Pontiac Motorsports, their racing division and it still wears the original racing stickers on the windshield on the front and the back. They didn't produce replica's in this year like other years. Some reports show 18 pace cars used for Nascar Duty, some reports show 27, I talked to PHS and Daytona and they mentioned only a handful were built and used for race day,  between 5-8. Mine is the only one that has ever surfaced according to Jim at PHS, and has been authenticated by PHS.

The interior is 100% original and untouched and in great shape as you can see by the pics. You wont find another one for sale anywhere in the country.  Let me know if you have any questions and happy bidding!

Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap

Tue, 30 Sep 2014

Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.
