2000 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6

I am selling my 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6.  This car runs great and looks awesome.  Only reason I want to get rid of it is because it never seems to leave my garage so someone else might as well enjoy it.  This car has been garage kept for as long as I have owned it.  The car has had heads cam and intake put on it along with a bunch of other performance, suspension, and appearance upgrades.  The car put down 410 horsepower to the wheels on a dynojet.  Car has PW, PL, cruise control, power leather seats with lumbar and head rests, 6 speed transmission with Hurst short throw shifter, Monsoon 500w Stereo, T-Top roof, Tinted Windows, and ABS/Traction Control.  Has every option except for the disc changer because I have put a stealth box in there instead with a 10 inch subwoofer.  Stereo sounds awesome.  The car has 91,117 miles at the moment, and will probably stay there since I don't drive the car very much.  With the 6 Speed transmission I have got 25 miles to the gallon on the highway with it so would make a great cruiser car.  The car sits on 17 inch C6 Chrome Corvette wheels with Nexen N3000 tires up front and Nitto NT05R Drag radials in the rear.  I just bought the wheels and tires earlier this year so they are pretty much brand new.  When the heads and cam were done, the oil pump, timing chain and lifters were replaced so the car has a completely refreshed top end on it.

Now for the performance parts of the car.  The cam used is the MS4 cam from Texas Speed and Performance, and has ported 241 heads on it along with an ls6 intake and ported and polished throttle body.  This car has pacesetter headers with an off road why pipe that goes to an electronic cutout that is wired to a switch in the ash tray as pictured.  After the cutout there is a flowmaster muffler with Corsa Clone Exhaust tips.  Like I said above this setup made 410 horsepower on the dyno so this car runs awesome, is very responsive, and sounds great.

The bads for the car is that there is a piece of clear coat on the front bumper that flaked off. I have it pictured here.  Also the car has a rebuilt title.  Was rear ended in an accident (not when I owned it).  Also the drivers door has the typical crack on the top like most of these cars do, and the passenger side is starting.  Other than those things the interior is in perfect shape.  This car drives straight, runs awesome and is perfect for someone looking to get a deal on a fast performance car.

Performance Parts:

Magic Stick 4 Camshaft (239/242 .649", .609")Ported Stock 241 Heads (PRC Double Springs good to .660" Lift, Titanium Retainers, Hardened Pushrods)
Replaced Timing chain with an LS2 timing chain when I did the cam swap
Replaced the Lifters with LS7 Lifters during head swap
Put a new ported and shimmed oil pump in while doing the cam swap
LS6 Intake
Ported Throttle Body
SLP Air Lid with a K&N Filter (Ram Air Air Box)
Pacesetter 1 3/4" Primary Headers
Off Road Y Pipe 3 inch
Electronic QTP 3 inch cutout
Flowmaster Cat Back with Corsa Clone Chrome Exhaust Tips
Spec Stage 3 Clutch Kit
Hurst Short Throw Shifter
Skip Shift Removed
Sub-Frame Connectors
Adjustable Lower Control Arms
Control Arm Relocation Brackets
Adjustable Panhard Bar
4.10 Rear End Gears
TA Performance Rear End Girdle Cover (puts pressure on the bearing caps to make the rear end stronger)
Energy Suspension Sway Bar Links
Slotted and Drilled Brake Rotors
160 Degree Thermostat
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
MSD Plug Wire Set
Has Been Professionally  Dyno Tuned (410 Rear Wheel Horsepower)

Appearance Upgrades:

WS6 Package (Ram Air Hood, Handling Package)
Chrome 17" C6 Corvette Wheels New this last spring (Nexen N3000 Tires in front, Nitto NT05R Drag Radials in the Rear)
Lowered (3" Front, 2" Rear)
Has silver ram air and side fender vents
Billet Trans Am lettering in the rear bumper
Slotted and Drilled Brake Rotors
Black Painted Brake Rotors with Trans Am Decals
Tinted Windows
Corsa Clone Chrome Exhaust Tips

This would make an awesome car for someone at a great price.  This car is very responsive and fast and looks good while doing it. I get compliments all the time.  I just don't seem to drive it anymore with a family now so I might as well let someone enjoy it and drive it.  Still has somewhat low miles at 91k miles, so this car runs awesome.  Air conditioning and everything works so you can hop in this car and take it for as long of a cruise as you would want.  I would trust this car to drive across the country with. I have close to 4 to 5 thousand dollars into the various upgrades and have most of the receipts, so this will be a great car at the price.  Thank you for viewing my listing.

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.

Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
