WS6 Sunset Orange Metallic
EXCELLENT SHAPE, PERFECT DRIVER, BABIED FROM DAY #1
This vehicle is in excellent near-showroom condition for being 12 years old. You will NOT be disappointed. Though there are low miles, this 24/7 garage kept vehicle has been driven every year...but only when the sun was shining.

Completely stock drivetrain except cat-back SLP Loudmouth Performance dual chrome tip exhaust which I added...best sound available for the LS1 engine in my opinion. Smooth and remarkably comfortable driver with outstanding gas mileage and glass-like paint. There is no rust on, in or under this sweet body. I don't even allow dust to settle on it! No kidding. Synthetic Oil changed every 1,000-1,500 miles since new.

FYI, don't bother asking. I have no information regarding the accident on the AutoCheck. It occurred while under prior ownership. I will say though that I knew when I purchased the car that it was in an accident. I was able to go over the car and drive it... I STILL BOUGHT IT...and I am picky about my cars.

The tires have 4,000 miles on them. I added a new battery and replaced a couple squeaky suspension bushings. I was and still am 100% satisfied with this vehicle. 100% and so will you. I do NOT want to sell this car!!!!!!

The only reason I'm selling is because I'm downsizing...8 vehicles must go to 4 quick, before my wife divorces me and takes 4 of them with her. The reserve is $18K. I will not take less, don't bother asking. I have a whole summer to drive it if it doesn't sell. Trust me, I will have no problem with that. . . don't tell my wife I said that.

Got questions, don't hesitate to call John @ 440-537-8808.

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.

Airbag recall adds 85k Pontiac Vibes to tally

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

The repairs needed for the faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata continue to expand. Toyota initially announced a recall of 766,300 vehicles equipped with the bad part on June 11 as a followup to a campaign from 2013. Soon after, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary evaluation into five automakers who also used the component in their models. Now, NHTSA has released the official announcement of the latest Toyota recall listing 844,277 affected cars, including the newly added 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe.
While NHTSA's document didn't include a model-by-model breakdown, General Motors spokesperson Alan Adler estimated to Autoblog that roughly 85,000 Vibes in the US would be covered under the latest recall. Like the rest of the affected models, the airbag inflator could rupture in a crash causing the bag not to work correctly, possibly spraying metal fragments at the occupant.
Toyota spokesperson Cindy Knight told Autoblog that the reason for the disparity between the earlier press release and NHTSA document was that Toyota was continuing to comb through VINs to create a list of affected vehicles. The original number was an estimate of that process at the time. Scroll down to the recall report from NHTSA.

1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
