1978 Pontiac Trans Am. These are only going up in value. This one is priced right, and will provide instant equity and security.
No rust. No issues. Runs great.  True code 24 Martinique Blue with deluxe black  interior. Original, numbers matching drive train except the 400 has been replaced with a fresh,  455 cu.in engine. Edelbrock intake and accel ignition. New clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and flywheel. Still the original #'s matching quadrajet carb. Original Hurst shifter works perfect. Trans is in good shape as well. Posi rear end puts the power down to the original 15 in. snowflake wheels with near new 245\60\15 sport radials. Stopping comes from new brakes all around.  Original exhaust manifolds and catalytic converter are now routed through twin turbo mufflers.  Not too loud, just a nice low rumble. This T\A was born with A\C, but it was not installed on the 455. We have the compressor and hoses to make it work. The car isnt show perfect, but has been in shows. There are a few minor nicks and scratches. The door panels and weather strips are worn, but easily changed.
Very fun to drive. A real head turner. Be ready for lots of attention when you take it out for a ride. Everyone wants to chat wherever you go.  Very powerful, but well mannered. Not hard to drive or high strung.  Cruise night is waiting for you!
Very low reserve for a Trans Am this nice. Please call John or Connie at 435 884 1040 with any ?? or email of course.

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.

GM recalling another 2.7 million vehicles in five separate campaigns

Thu, 15 May 2014

The recalls keep rolling in from General Motors, evidently keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of the ignition-switch debacle and clean house. This time they're all coming at once, with five separate recalls announced together covering approximately 2.7 million vehicles.
The largest of the five actions involves over 2.4 million units of the previous-generation Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in order to fix brake light wiring harness, which have been found to be susceptible to corrosion. The recall is separate from the 56k Aura sedans which GM recently recalled over faulty shift cables, not to mention the previous massive recall of 1.3 million vehicles - some of them the same models - but appears to have resulted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation that started with the G6 almost a year ago.
The second-largest campaign involves the 2014 Chevy Malibu, specifically those fitted with GM's 2.5-liter engine and stop/start system, approximately 140,000 examples of which has been found to have problematic brakes. The issue does not appear to be connected to the recall of 8k Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans (also involving brake woes) which we reported upon last week. Four crashes have been reported in such models, but GM admits it's not yet clear if the problem was a contributing factor in the accidents.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
