Don't let the good looking pictures deceive you.  I bought this car with the intention of doing a complete restoration because it apparently has matching numbers and the car is pretty much all there.  I do restorations in my garage and just do not have the time and energy to take on another one..so for those of you who have that time, here is your opportunity.  The body has some rust in it in the typical areas, but the does not appear to have been in any real accidents.  Surprisingly, the engine is very strong.  150 compression in each cylinder and the heads look like they have been recently done.  I think the engine is at least a 1750 or more because of the power.  The old Webers are pretty worn out and the heater boxes are missing replaced with J-pipes.  Muffler is some sort of an aftermarket one and exhaust note is quite unique.  The car has the potential of either a minimal restoration that would make a good driver or complete restoration.  Battery box has been replaced the the pan is in decent shape.  Transmission is very strong and smooth.  When I got it it did not run and the engine was full of oil. I have pulled the motor and replaced the oil cooler seals (where the leak was coming) replced the trans mounts, replaced distributor, plugs, clutch, pressure plate and t/o bearing, generator, fuel pump, ign wires and fuel petcock.  The engine sheet metal is very funky and will probably need to be replaced.  This is a very good project car and has the potential of being a very nice car.

Son of Porsche 911 designer recalls 1963 Frankfurt debut

Wed, 16 Oct 2013

The Goodwood Revival is described by its presenters as the greatest motorsport racing party of the year. We often focus heavily on the motorsports, but you can't forget about the party. For the first preview of the new 911 Turbo in the UK, Porsche recreated its booth from the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963 - the time and place of the original 911's public debut.
Porsche's cameras also caught up with Mark Porsche, the great grandson of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and son of the late Ferdinand Alexander "Butzi" Porsche, who oversaw the design of the 911. Mark Porsche admires the 911's friendly design, which is set off by the round headlights, and says his mother, who was at the original Frankfurt booth in 1963, was milling around the booth at Goodwood - no doubt taking a trip down memory lane.

Porsche boss admits Panamera's style is offputting

Sat, 11 Oct 2014

"There have been some small mistakes and we will do it better. For example the design could be better." - Matthias Mueller.
The design of the Porsche Panamera has been divisive, to say the least. Pretty much any Porsche with four doors was going to draw the ire of enthusiasts, but the fast-back-style roofline, prominent curves and seemingly never-ending hood have particularly irked some brand loyalists.

2014 Porsche Cayman S

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

A Blue-Blooded Valentine
I need you to understand what it's like to drive this car. I'm not talking about your ability to comprehend the words on this page or process the figures that surround the 2014 Porsche Cayman S, but rather what it feels like to take control of a car conceived, designed, engineered and manufactured to set your prefrontal cortex alight with all the glee a Zippo typically reserves for pine needles marinated in jet fuel. From the instant you put your tail in the driver's seat, the Cayman sets about impregnating your veins with a full and varied spectrum of ludicrous emotion. It's not like taking the family pickup to market, I can tell you that much.
For 2014, the next-generation Cayman features many of the same styling tweaks first displayed on the coupe's drop-top cousin, the Boxster, though a spate of mechanical changes, more power, less weight and better efficiency join the party to further differentiate this model from its predecessor. And while additions like rev-matched downshifts and electronic power steering help push the Cayman into a new era, one fact remains unchanged: This is one of the best driving cars on the market. Period. Bear with me and I'll try to explain exactly why that is.
