For sale is my 1972 Porsche 911T. This is a really nice example of a very sought after car with lots of options. This particular 911T has many S options, low mile, no accidents or rust and is in original color.

The 1972 model year has the relocated oil tank for better weight distribution and the unique side access door. This car is a numbers matching car in its original color of light yellow. It is a 5 spd, non sunroof coupe. The shut lines and panels are all excellent, and it has famous "ping" of the door shutting on both sides indicating a solid, straight, non-abused example of an early Porsche.

This 911 has been re-painted its original color and as you can see it is very nice. There are no dents and no rust. The front trunk area has its original paint and spare date code 12-71 (The car is a 1-72 production date). This car comes with paperwork from the original owner, the original owners manual and service book with owners history. I have the original steering wheel and it comes with the auction. I have the original headlamps and chrome surrounds (sugar scoops).  I am owner owner number three. In addition I have service history that includes recent work including upper end valve job among many other items to get the 911 where it is today.

The car drives very strong and handles well with its brand new Pirelli tires on it. The wheels were recently polished and repainted and look great as you can see. I do have the center caps although they are not shown in the photos.

This 911 has S gauges and trim, S calipers and struts, spoiler etc.... The engine runs strong. The transmissions shifts smoothly and feels direct and more precise than all others I have driven. The brakes were recently done.

The interior has nice shape original seats with only minor wear, a small tear on the headliner over the driver and two cracks on the original dash. All gauges work except the clock that just went out.

As I mentioned it comes with owner and service history, as well as original date coded rims and spare, and the original tool kit. This is a rare and sought after car that I have to let go and hope that it goes to a good home. Thanks for looking.

On May-29-13 at 08:09:05 PDT, seller added the following information:

I have had a lot of interest and questions that I thought I would answer all at once. First, I have posted additional photos of the engine that many wanted to see, and I thought I had originally posted. I apologize the pictures are all taken from my cell phone, the car looks much better in person so I encourage everyone to have an inspection. I removed the trunk carpeting to take pictures of the tank and battery box areas. Those photos are also posted now.

Other questions: The engine runs strong, it has good compression and yes does leak some oil. I will try to post some photos of the documents/manuals and no I have not requested the certificate of authenticity from Porsche because all the original information/documentation I have.

I HAVE THE ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER....so a Porsche COA really isn't necessary!

As for "Buy It Now" requests I would say bid early and often because I plan on selling the car through this Ebay auction.

For all those that would like to inspect the car-  I will arrange for the car to be available at my mechanic in Van Nuys CA later this week and will post information at that time. Thank you!

Porsche Panamera gets new diesel in time for Frankfurt

Tue, 03 Sep 2013

Diesel may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Porsche, but in the European market - that vital one which Porsche calls home - diesels are indispensable. Particularly when you're trying to extend beyond niche sports cars and into the mainstream luxury sedan market as Zuffenhausen has with the Panamera. In fact, diesels account for 15 percent of Panamera sales worldwide (even though they're not offered Stateside), so to keep oil-burning customers happy, Porsche has announced a series of upgrades.
Set to be unveiled in the flesh at the fast-approaching Frankfurt Motor Show, the new Panamera Diesel packs 300 horsepower. That's 50 hp (or 20 percent) more than the model it replaces, significantly dropping the 0-62 sprint from 6.8 seconds to 6 flat, and raising top speed from 152 miles per Autobahn-crunching hour to 161. While they were at it, Porsche's engineers also fitted the rear differential with torque vectoring (previously reserved for gasoline-burning models) and retuned the transmission and suspension.
You can delve into the press release below for all the details - including the new model's improved towing capacity! - but the reality, for better or worse, is that the Panamera Diesel isn't offered here. So if you've been celebrating Labor Day (or even Labour Day, for our friends to the north) like we have, don't go looking for it at your local dealer, who will have only a Cayenne Diesel to show you instead.

Porsche Macan configurator lets you build $110k crossover

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

Part of the idea behind the new Porsche Macan is that it's less expensive than its larger sibling, the Cayenne. But with a starting MSRP of $49,900, the base Macan S is actually $300 more expensive than the cheapest Cayenne. That, however, is just the start, as you can see from the online configurator.
As is often the case with German cars in general (Porsches especially), tick the right boxes and you'll soon be leaving that base price behind in a cloud of tire smoke. Start off with the Macan Turbo and you're looking at a base MSRP of $72,300, which is already over twenty grand more than the naturally-aspirated version. But even that soon escalates as the options pile on.
Aurum Metallic paint will set you back $3,120. 21-inch wheels, another $3,300. You'll probably want the air suspension, torque vectoring, the Sport Chrono package, adaptive cruise control and lane-change systems, and those each add over a grand to the price. A Burmester surround sound system is the single most expensive option at $4,290. And if you choose them all - and choose all the optional trim packages - you'll soon be looking at a price in excess of $110,000. That's enough to get you into a Cayenne Turbo... assuming you don't tag on all the options to that one, too.

Porsche-Piech buy 10% stake in VW's holding company

Tue, 18 Jun 2013

In August, 2009, as the scuttled merger of Porsche and Volkswagen had gone bad and Porsche was backed up against the ropes, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (PAHSE) relinquished a ten-percent stake in itself to Qatar Holdings as well as options it held on 17 percent of VW shares. The sale meant that, for the first time since the founding of the company 61 years before, an entity outside the Porsche and Piech families had a say in the running of PAHSE.
Buying that ten-percent stake back returns full ownership to the two families, the holding company's sole possession being ownership of 50.7 percent of VW's common shares. The price paid wasn't disclosed, but at market rates the purchase would be worth close to $1.25 billion. Qatar intends to hold onto the 17-percent stake it has in Volkswagen.
