You're looking at my 1977 Porsche 911. This is a great little car and is very solid. Floors and front pan are in near perfect original condition with no rust. These cars are a blast to drive and are becoming harder and harder to find in this condition. Most are very rusty. There's a small ding/scratch on the drivers side lower rocker (easy fix).  The paint is older but shows well. There are a few imperfections here and there but overall it's not unsightly.  The car runs and drives and shifts good. Nice and tight. Brakes are good. Tires on it are older but I am throwing in an almost new set of 4 with it. As do most old 911's, the engine drips some oil. It's a little cold natured until warmed up, but runs like a champ once it is. This car has been executive owned since 1995, and has always been garage kept. It's not a show car but a fun little driver that will only increase in value. These early 911's are going through the roof! This is a non-sun roof model which is ideal if you want to track it! Car is equipped with AC, but not working currently. The dash is very nice with no cracks. Door panels are decent as well. Has roll up windows, and pop-out rear side vent windows. Spare, tool kit, manual and jack included. All in all this is a fun 911 that you can tinker with and enjoy along the way. I am a private collector trying to thin down my collection a little bit. Ask any and all questions before bidding. I am selling at No Reserve so the last bid wins. I require a $500 Paypal deposit immediately following the auction and full payment within 3 days of auction's end. If you cannot do this, then PLEASE do not bid. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!

Nick Murray's problematic Porsche 911 shows the power of a viral video

Fri, 18 Apr 2014

When Nick Murray took delivery of his 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S in June 2013, he had saved for it for the past five years. He didn't just pluck a random 911 off a dealer lot. He specially ordered his car with thousands of dollars in extras tailored just to him, and he captured all of the options on his YouTube channel. The love affair didn't last long. Eventually the channel became a place for Nick to air his growing list of grievances about his deteriorating 911. Eventually, his mix of righteous indignation and sarcasm went viral.
By late December, he had already had four warranty repairs done on the car. Things got much worse in March. The computers began resetting whenever Nick drove over large bumps. There was also an acrid, electrical smell that occasionally permeated the cabin. Murray filed for Lemon Law protection. Porsche Cars North America contacted him for the first time to fix the problem, but it didn't help.
Things culminated in April when Murray put up a new video that showed more troubles. He began arbitration with Porsche and asked for either his full purchase price back or an exact replacement. The company countered with a portion of what the car was worth, based on its mileage. Murray refused and turned to his YouTube watchers for help. He asked them to spread the word, and the video went viral with over 800,000 views as of this writing. Supporters posted it multiple times on Porsche's Facebook and Twitter sites.

First-ever Porsche headed home to company museum

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

About 30 years before Ferdinand Porsche designed the Volkswagen Beetle, he created the Egger-Lohner electric vehicle, C.2 Phaeton model - or simply, the P1 - you see above. This was the first vehicle created by Porsche, and the car gets its nickname from the fact that he had stamped "P1" on many of the parts marking it as the first Porsche... sorry, 356 No. 1.
Now while you'd think that such an important piece of Porsche heritage has been in a museum or even the automaker's not-so-secret lair, it has actually been sitting at a warehouse for the last 112 years. Thankfully, that's all about to change as Porsche has recovered P1, and the car will soon be on "permanent display" at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
The P1 has a 3 horsepower motor capable of delivering a top speed of 21 miles per hour and a driving range of 49 miles, and, like many vehicles in Porsche's history, the motor is positioned at the rear of the vehicle. According to the press release posted below, the P1 finished first in a 24-mile electric vehicle race in Berlin in 1899, but it has been sitting since 1902.

2014 Porsche Panamera 4S Executive

Fri, 09 Aug 2013

If the idea of a Porsche sedan (or, long hatchback) is still off-putting to you, then you might want to look away now. For 2014, the polarizing Panamera has received a midcycle refresh bringing slightly different styling, as well as adding two new models to the lineup, the S E-Hybrid and the stretched-wheelbase Executive. Having focused most of my recent trip to Germany on a First Drive of the intriguing plug-in Panamera, I also got to spend some time with the roomier Executive model.
Offered in both 4S and Turbo guise, the Panamera Executive has been stretched by almost six inches for the sole purpose of improving rear passenger space. Although it's hard to imagine anyone would willingly buy a Porsche and opt to sit in the back seat, I'd have to say that if I'm going to be chauffeured around in a car, why not make it a Porsche? For the most part, though, I'm guessing that many Panamera Executive sedans will be owned by people who want to one-up their buddy driving a stretched BMW 7 Series or Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
