ENGINE
The rebuild included
Valve stem seals
Rocker arm bushings
Piston rings
All bearings
All gaskets and sealing rings
Timing chain and rails
Oil and gas filters
Pressure relief valves
Etc..
Before reassembly the crank and moving parts were verified for clearance by a machine shop.
TRANSMISSION and CLUTCH
The transmission is the stock 5 speed in excellent condition. The pressure plate, disk and bearing were changed.
BRAKES
The front calipers and pads were replaced; the rear brakes are perfect. The master cylinder had a slight leak and was replaced. All brake lines were flushed with new fluid.
BODY
The general condition is better than a car that was used between 1978 and 1994. This vehicle is not the typical Porsche that today is 39 years old (1978-2017).
There is absolutely NO rust whatsoever and no part of the car shows any suspicion signs of rust and this includes the body joints, floor pans, underneath and on all parts supporting the suspension
The body is as straight as a pin and has not been modified. The color does look much better than in the pictures. It is a rich hue of a blend of gold and bronze.
The Targa hoop is stainless steel as the original model. I can include the black version but the stainless one is striking. The headlights have the European look and the covers are chrome.
GLASS
All glass and trim are perfect-no scratches nor annoying glare as older windshields tend to suffer from. It is due to the fact that it was garaged by the previous owner and then stored in heated premises most of its life.
The electric windows operate trouble free.
INTERIOR
The seats are electric and in an as new condition-no marks, blemishes, wear-no excuses.
The dash is without cracks, sun damage or marks.
The carpets had a very mild odor from storage and I replaced all of them. I assure you that any odor is gone!
The headliner of the Targa top is as new.
WHEELS and TIRES
The wheels are original factory Fuchs. They are in excellent condition without scratches or scrapes.

Man arrested for stealing part of Paul Walker Porsche wreck
Fri, 06 Dec 2013Humans are odd creatures. Some of us collect things associated with bad events, particularly when it comes to cars. Your author, for example, has the grille of his wrecked 2004 Mini Cooper S hanging on the wall. As a more extreme example, an 18-year-old Californian is in trouble with the LA police, but not for taking an item from his own car accident. Instead, he has been arrested for stealing from the wreck of the Porsche Carrera GT that killed actor Paul Walker and racer Roger Rodas.
And it wasn't a small piece, either. It was the Carrera GT's carbon-fiber roof panel. Making matters worse is word that the theft happened while the tow truck that was hauling the wrecked Porsche was sitting in traffic. According to the LA Sheriff's Department report, "A witness saw a male exit a vehicle that was following the tow truck. The male grabbed a piece of the wrecked Porsche off the tow truck bed." Besides the eyewitnesses, it didn't help that images of the roof panel were later posted on Instagram.
The man, Jameson Witty, was later arrested at his home, where police also found the roof panel. The driver of the car Witty was in when he took the roof panel, meanwhile, is planning on surrendering to the police, according to CNN. It remains unclear if the district attorney's office will charge the two, although if it does, they'll be facing felony grand theft and tampering with evidence.
Porsche 911 GT3 named Performance Car of the Year by Road & Track
Thu, 13 Nov 2014The Porsche 911 GT3 is a very, very good performance car. Yes, we know this is like saying fire is hot and a shovel to the head hurts. What's different about this proclamation, then? Well, we bring up the 911 GT3's inherent goodness because our friends at Road & Track have named it their 2015 performance car of the year.
This is, our joking aside, a big accomplishment for the 911 GT3, due largely to the field of cars it beat out. There were many equally track-focused wonders in attendance, including the Ferrari 458 Speciale, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and Dodge Viper SRT TA, as well as more capable everyday vehicles, like the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, BMW M3 and Ford Mustang GT.
But it was the 475-horsepower, rear-engined track star that R&T fell for, with editor-in-chief Larry Webster calling out the Porsche's ridiculous, howling, 9,000-rpm redline, while other editors cited its phenomenal handling character.
CEO says Volkswagen's buying spree is over
Mon, 03 Sep 2012
After adding Italian motorcycle icon Ducati to its stable and spending $5.6 billion on the rest of Porsche, Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn says he's done shopping for a while.
"We have enough to do at the moment in taking our twelve brands to where we want to be," Winterkorn tells German newspaper Handelsblatt.
