You're viewing my stunning 1982 Porsche 911SC Targa. The car is very nice and runs VERY strong the top end rebuilt/new head studs/heads sent out/valves done, tranny gone thru/new synchronizers, new clutch, new exhaust, oil return tubes, re-seal, rebuilt CDI box and new coil, professionally by 356 Inc. near Hilton Head. All parts used were factory original/correct.
The car needs nothing to be enjoyed immediately. Very solid, no rust. Paint looks great...you have to look for
flaws but there are a few very minor scratches, etc as it is a driver not a garage Queen. Interior is very nice
with original leather seats with no tears or splits. Nice door panels and carpet, new Targa top headliner. Perfect
dash, no cracks. Gauges are clear and all work
Factory AC and cruise control. Aftermarket radio and rear speakers. I've never turned
the radio on because the sound coming from the air cooled motor behind me is music to my ears! Tires and brakes are
very good. Stops on a dime and tracks straight as an arrow. Original Fuchs look great. The underside of the car is
like new from the factory with no rust. Body panels are straight with good gaps. New muffler and stainless heat
exchangers.
Since having the top end rebuilt the car is a blast to drive. It pulls very strong in all gears and doesn't skip a
beat. I literally have only driven about 3500 break in miles since all the work was completed. Doesn't leak a drop
of oil and doesn't smoke at all. Tranny is smooth and synchros are excellent.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS facing delay over GT3 fire problems?
Mon, 24 Mar 2014Porsche has never been afraid to introduce variants of its cars. However, its even higher spec, next-generation 911 GT3 RS may be delayed from its planned launch this summer while the engines in the standard GT3s (pictured above) are replaced.
A delay isn't certain, but executives want to make sure the high-strung mill is no longer a problem before they press forward with another model using it. Germany's Auto Motor und Sport asked Porsche CEO Matthias Müller about pushing back the launch, and he responded that it was too early to say. The company's current focus is making sure the engines get fixed and working on internal measures to prevent this kind of flaw in the future.
When fires claimed two 911 GT3s in Europe, Porsche initially stopped the model's sales and asked owners to stop driving them. It finally diagnosed the blazes as being caused by a loose screw on a connecting rod, which then resulted in crankcase damage and an oil leak. The company is replacing the engines on all 785 affected cars. A source told Autoblog that under 200 customers were actually affected, and the other cars were either at port or dealer lots. Hopefully, the recall doesn't postpone the road-going GT3 RS too far because we want to see what Porsche has up its sleeve.
Porsche resurrects V8-powered 911 prototype from the Eighties
Wed, 14 May 2014These days, we take it for granted that the Porsche 911 uses a flat-six engine. That's because every version of the iconic rear-engined sports car has had one. Right? Well, for the most part. There was the 912 that joined the original in the late Sixties with a flat-four. And in the mid-Eighties, Porsche toyed around with the idea of a V8-powered 911.
After the first-generation 911 had been in production for over two decades, Porsche began development of its successor, the 964, in the 1980s. And one of its ideas was to use a V8 engine. So it took a 964, borrowed a V8 from Audi, gave it the rear bodywork from a 959 and dubbed it the 965.
The idea was to create a more affordable successor to the 959 that included its advanced all-wheel drive system and active suspension. The Audi V8 would have been replaced with one of Porsche's own design - possibly based on the it had built for Indy racing - but Dr. Ulrich Bez (who was then head of Porsche R&D long before taking the reins at Aston Martin) ultimately killed the project.
