1983 Porsche 911 SC, found in a pole barn not running. Fixed a few things: Rebuilt engine by Savannahs finest. Did not split the case as wear was minimal, but had several broken head studs, all studs replaced as well as a laundry list of other items. New clutch, bearings. New rotors, front, rebuilt calipers all around. Removed the rear bumperettes and trim, everything shaved, and repainted rear bumper, shown in later pictures. Cleaned and resealed gas tank. Rebuilt pedal cluster Rebuilt odometer. Replaced shift bushings and coupler. Put on good used tires. two new steering joints. Car has less than 100 miles on rebuild, runs, starts, drives fine. Does not leak a drop of oil. Very fast. Warm up idle stays high until closer to operating temp, about 10 min of driving, A/C compressor removed, mount sill there. 1st and fourth gear are getting grumpy, at times hard to find, could be adjustment, but assume tranny upgrade in future. Interior was musty, parts of carpet removed. Seats worn, passenger seat pictured does not go with the car, original seat will be reinstalled. Very little rust if any, some surface here and there. Windows wired hot, so always work with or with out key. Most lights and gauges work. Door pockets changed to fiberglass. Needs paint and interior. If I have not mentioned something here assume it is untested/in original condition/likely not working. Sold AS=IS. Item must be picked up. If paying with anything other than cash, car will not be transferred/released until payment is FULLY cleared. For sale locally, auction may be ended early.

LaFerrari, McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and Agera R take to Assen
Tue, 10 Jun 2014It's the show-down (sort of) we've all been waiting for. The battle of the hybrid hypercars from the performance powerhouses of Europe: Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. No one publication has managed to get their hands on all three just yet, but this video has - and with a Koenigsegg Agera R thrown in for good measure.
The video was shot by our (unrelated) Dutch compatriots at Autoblog.nl at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. The track has played host to Champ Cars and all manner of racing bikes, but this could be the ultimate grid of actual production machinery that's ever lined up behind its start/finish line. Shame the weather was rainy and this unsurpassed array of supercars weren't really racing - more showing off for the crowds. But what a show it was. Scope out the footage in the video below.
Mark Webber treats Maria Sharapova to a Porsche 918 Spyder joyride
Tue, 29 Apr 2014We don't much like Mark Webber right now. Part of being a racing driver is dealing with promotional stuff. It's not hard to find a driver that can't stand all this nonsense, whether it be promoting a product, meeting investors or attending some obscure event. Even a driver of Webber's caliber - a former Formula One driver for Red Bull Racing and a member of Porsche's factory Le Mans team - has to serve his time at the promo events.
Somehow, though, we don't think the Aussie driver minds this particular promo detail. In the video below, Webber attends the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart. He then takes tennis superstar Maria Sharapova out for a spin behind the wheel of the Porsche 918 Spyder. The level of jealousy at the Autoblog office is palpable.
Take a look below for the video. And as we're super jealous of Mr. Webber, hop into Comments and caption the above photo based on what you think he's saying to Maria. Bonus points if you can work "vegemite" into the caption.
Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards
Tue, 27 Nov 2012Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
