1987 Porsche 911sc Targa, Triple Black on 2040-cars

Year:1987 Mileage:91128
Location:

1987 Porsche 911 SC , Targa.
What a super nice 911 Porsche!  Rides and handles very well. Engine turns up flawlessly and sounds great.  5 Speed Trans shifts smoothly.  This 911 has been upgraded with late model 17 inch rims and new Continental Extreme Contact ZR rated tires. The removable Targa top has been refurbished to new condition.
A 911 Porsche is a treat to behold.  The body lines are classic and menacing all in the same breath.  No wonder so many other car manufacturers attempt to "copy" the pure profile lines of the 911.  So upgrade the 911 profile with the wider body and improved stance and go kart like handling. Put a huge "Whale Tail" air handler on the rear.  Black out the chrome and stainless.  Pump up the Horse Power with the strong 3.2.liter flat six. Wa-lah the 1987 911 SC
Current owner, like most all Porsche owners love to drive their Porsche.  Makes sense to me the 911 is a drivers car!  911's are meant to be driven and enjoyed.  There are a few nicks and bruises from escapades on the public roads but nothing major and nothing that distracts from the overall visual sensation of a 911 Porsche.
This 911 has had one repaint.  Current color is Black, original color was red.

This 911 just arrived at CPR.  CPR has been selected to represent the 911 for sale.
We  are currently in the process of detailing the 911 from to to bottom as it has been hibernating all winter.  We will also have it on the lift this week to check and report any issues we notice.  None are anticipated as this 911 looks and handles very well. Undercarriage photos will be posted.

The one area of weakness that we see is in the interior.  The outside edge of the drivers seat back is worn and discolored, it is a driver after all.   CPR can assist the new owner with any restoration need including the interior.  We also know the speedometer stopped working after the new tires were installed.  On the way home from the tire shop as a mater of fact.  No more than 900 miles have been logged on the car since failure of the speedometer.  Speedometer shows 90228 miles

Porsche to develop new line of engines for next Panamera

Sat, 22 Mar 2014

When the second generation of the four-door Porsche Panamera launches, it will likely be riding a new platform, complete with an all-new family of V6 and V8 engines, according to a report coming out of the UK.
Autocar reports that the so-called MSB platform will likely underpin the Panamera, and it could be shared with Bentley, provided the Volkswagen-owned, British-built brand commits to the architecture. As for the engines, it's reported that they'll have a sportier character than the V6s and V8s being built for Volkswagen and Audi's vehicles.
"Porsche will have its own new V8 that will be common to the new MSB platform," Porsche's chief engineer, Wolfgang Hatz, said. "It's a family for the next 10 years of cars." Whether the V8 and V6 will be used outside of the Panamera line, though, remains unclear. There's also no mention of what place turbocharging would have with the new engines.

2015 Porsche Cayenne spotted with facelift

Wed, 03 Apr 2013

Although it's only been a few years since the current Porsche Cayenne was introduced, Porsche seems to be working on a midcycle update for its big SUV possibly in time to welcome the smaller Macan. As seen in these recent spy shots, it looks like the Cayenne will be getting a minor face- and butt-lift, but it's hard to say what other changes are in store or when the updated model will hit showrooms.
Up front, expect the Cayenne's new face to resemble what was just revealed on the 2014 Panamera, and we could also see this SUV using some of the new engines introduced on the Panamera including the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 or maybe even the E-Hybrid model. We're guessing that the new Cayenne could debut sometime next year likely for the 2015 model year. In the meantime, check out the gallery of spy shots above.

Porsche releases new images of LMP1 racecar

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

Porsche has released another batch of images of its LMP1 competitor preparing for its debut season in 2014. This isn't the first we've seen of the new car, as June saw four images of the new racer undergoing testing. Where those images looked merely like someone taking pics during the test, the 11 new images seen above have all the hallmarks of highly polished PR shots.
That aside, the camo-covered cars still provide another look at what the new LMP1 car will look like when it arrives next season. The taillights follow the example set by Audi, by vertically mounting ultra-thin LEDs on the tips of the rear wing, while the LED headlights sport the four-prong look that Porsche has been pushing of late. Besides those two items, its difficult to make out many details due to the amount of camo.
Porsche's LMP1 effort will be focused on the FIA World Endurance Championship, which will see the revered brand return to the top flights of the 24 Hours Of Le Mans with F1 ace Mark Webber behind the wheel. As we've mentioned before, the German brand has set up a dedicated microsite that will cover its newest racer's progress.
