1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa 2-door 3.2l on 2040-cars
Brentwood, California, United States
Great opportunity to own a sports car. I mainly drive it on the weekends and have run out of space with my toys and the Porsche I no longer have time for. It looks, runs and drives great. I purchased this car in Florida and had it transported to California where I had German Auto sport make sure the engine and transmission were solid and for a 35 year old car it will still snap your head back. A new Catalytic converter was installed and it is now is now a registered in California There is no rust, only wear and tear on the seats, and 3 minor dents that you have to look for other than that, she is still a head turner that you will have alot of fun with.
Also will consider a trade for a Crownline boat 25ft-28ft, 2005+ Current miles = 127,602 All gaskets, filters and lines have been replaced by German Auto Sport in Walnut Creek, CA. VIN =WP0EB091XJS161084 :use zero's only A fantastic example of a late 80's Targa that will only appreciate in value as time goes on! |

LaFerrari, McLaren P1, Porsche 918 and Agera R take to Assen
Tue, 10 Jun 2014It's the show-down (sort of) we've all been waiting for. The battle of the hybrid hypercars from the performance powerhouses of Europe: Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. No one publication has managed to get their hands on all three just yet, but this video has - and with a Koenigsegg Agera R thrown in for good measure.
The video was shot by our (unrelated) Dutch compatriots at Autoblog.nl at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. The track has played host to Champ Cars and all manner of racing bikes, but this could be the ultimate grid of actual production machinery that's ever lined up behind its start/finish line. Shame the weather was rainy and this unsurpassed array of supercars weren't really racing - more showing off for the crowds. But what a show it was. Scope out the footage in the video below.
New J.D. Power Initial Quality Study puts Porsche, GM in spotlight
Wed, 19 Jun 2013J.D. Power and Associates has released its annual Initial Quality Study, and this year, Porsche and General Motors took the spotlight. The study, which asks new car owners to report problems experienced during the first 90 days of ownership, found that overall, the industry averages 113 problems per 100 vehicles.
Porsche managed a score of just 80 problems per 100 vehicles, while GMC took the second spot on the podium with 90. Lexus filled out the top three with 94 problems per 100 vehicles, followed by Infiniti at 95 and Chevrolet at 97. The study also looks at specific models, and found the Lexus LS to enjoy the best initial quality at 59 problems per 100 vehicles.
Interestingly enough, the report found that around two-thirds of most owner problems experienced in the first 90 days are attributable to vehicle design instead of mechanical failure. Specifically - echoing a refrain we've been hearing for the last few years - owners are having a hard time figuring out how to use the technology present in their new vehicles. Head over to the J.D. Power site for more information, or scroll down below for the company's related press release.
China may surpass US as Porsche's largest market this year thanks to Cayenne
Thu, 09 Oct 2014China has already surpassed the United States as the world's largest automotive market, so it's no surprise that one day soon it will be the world's largest Porsche market.
In fact, that day may already be here, as the PRC's Porschephiles outbought their American counterparts in September. Porsche's Chinese dealers sold 4,344 cars last month to America's 3,607. Through all of 2014 so far, though, the US is still the larger market for the German brand.
"The U.S. performed very well this year, after a great year in 2013, but China is growing fast, thanks to the Cayenne which is our best seller there," Porsche's sales and marketing boss, Bernhard Maier, told Automotive News Europe.
