This is the last of the classic air cooled Porsche's. I purchased this car in 2001 and knew the previous owner. The car has been driven sparingly, when I bought it it had 80000 miles on it. I am forced to sell this treasure because I have run out of room to store it. The car has always been in California, and garaged. The car was serviced at Alpina motors in Napa CA and I have all of the service records. The vehicle is all stock with the exception of the struts and sound system. I recently added Billstein struts on all four wheels at the recommendation of my mechanic, and its has been a huge upgrade to the handleing. The audio system was installed by Car Audio Innovations of Roseville CA. They specialize in Porsches and fabricated a subwoofer box under the back jump seats, this is paired with an ipod compatible alpine deck, and amplification in the front boot. This system is simply awesome, and must be heard to be appreciated .Some of the recent work done to the car is as follows, new tires, new top with new electrical switches, new battery, altenator and computer. In summary this car performs better now than when new. Your purchase will ensure that you own the most iconic version of the 911.

Porsche 911 Cabriolet refresh may hide new engine

Wed, 22 Jan 2014

If we learned nothing else from our recent frolic through Porsche's secret museum, it's that the automaker goes to incredible lengths to disguise future products during initial testing. Just as a number of cars in that Stuttgart bunker hid the true identity of developmental mules (like the Audi-V8-powered 911), such could very well be the case with these spy shots showing what, on the surface, appears to be simply a facelifted 991 911 Cabriolet.
Similar to what we saw last month on a 911 coupe, this Cabriolet has obvious styling modifications made to the front and rear fascias suggesting that the 911's still-fresh appearance is already set to get a few tweaks. The big news here is at the rear of the car. The additional vents on the lower edge of the fascia and the mocked-up vent above the engine leads our spy photographer to believe that a new engine could be tucked under the body work - likely a smaller-displacement, turbocharged flat-six focusing more on improving fuel efficiency and reducing exhaust emissions rather than performance.
We last heard rumblings of such a detuned 911 back in August, but could this be our first look at said new model? Have a look for yourself, and let us know what you think - either about this mule specifically or the idea of a "green" 911, in Comments below.

2015 Porsche Cayman GTS

Thu, 29 May 2014

The Porsche Boxster and Cayman will forever nip at the heels of their big brother, the 911 Carrera, and perpetuating this tradition are the latest GTS variants, which add yet another arrow to the quiver of the plucky mid-engined platform.
The GTS' performance enhancements boost horsepower by a mere 15 and shave a tenth from 0 to 60, but Porsche's clever product planners and engineers have stuck to their familiar formula in making the Cayman GTS more desirable than the Boxster for dyed-in-the-wool performance enthusiasts. More on that shortly.
Laps around Spain's Circuito Mallorca RennArena and the nearby Serra de Tramuntana mountain range would shed further light on how the GTS differentiates itself from lesser Caymans.

'Ring Queen Sabine Schmitz battles Ron Simons in Porsche vs Ferrari scrap

Tue, 04 Jun 2013

We hope you have seven minutes to kill. RSR Nürburgring recently took the time to pit Sabine Schmitz and her slightly modified Porsche 911 GT3 RS against Ron Simons and his Ferrari 458 Italia in a sparring match around the infamous Green Hell. The clip begins with the two drivers engaging in a smidgeon of smack talk before the two get down to the business of beating each other's doors off around one of the most challenging courses in the world. Simons calls his car superior to Schmitz's 911, while Schmitz says she's up against nothing more than a Fiat driven by an old Dutch man.
Don't hold any punches, you two.
We won't spoil the finale for you, but we will say the tango is worth watching. At the end, the loser calls for a rematch. We can't wait to see that throwdown. Check out the clip below for yourself.
